Don’t throw stones in glass houses springs to mind. I seem to remember their fans gloating after our relegation and their promotion. How 6 months can change in football hey?
It's time clubs like this were subject to tighter controls..when they go to sign a player they should have to submit fee and wages offered to a EFL board for approval first...this lot would be lucky to be in the conference..
Bottom of the league. Six points adrift. Lovely. It's just a pity that Millwall aren't above or below them on goal difference.
Things you don't see every day. Liquidity issues and financial strength mentioned in the same article.
Could not help having a look at their latest accounts which cover their season in league one and their title winning year. Turnover of £8.3m, salary bill of £13m and a loss of £7.7m. Losses supported by the owner putting another £8m in through share capital. I suppose the liquidity issue is waiting for the owner to stump up some more cash as the club have run out again.
If the financially strong owners are so supportive they should have stumped up the cash BEFORE their employees and other bills needed paying.
