Seeing where he comes from to try and make a guess as to how he will go with regards the state of the pitch.

what I did find is that he likes a yellow card hardly ever gives less than two per game and averages nearly 3.5 per match. One to consider for our betting pals

    Oh and he’s from Bedfordshire

He's refereed Plymouth once this season, at home to Bolton in August.

He was best ref we’ve had all season. Nice to see a ref that doesn’t want to be the centre of the attention all game and does his best to let the game flow. He certainly helped the spectacle.

He did ok. Should have sent off the player who was on a yellow for them though. He had let him off about 3 times before the first yellow and then he made a late challenge on Connell that should have seen him gone. They subbed him straight after it.

Agreed it was like he couldn’t bear to get the red out of his pocket. As clear a case of total number of fouls equals a red as you could ever see. He messed up there.

Their 28 should have been off the park first half.

I said to my lad ‘I can guarantee he’ll book the first Barnsley player to concede a foul second half’ - and he did, as far as I recall. Connell was booked for what was his first maybe second foul, whilst their lad had about four warnings, still stayed on, and even got away with pulling someone back - a clear yellow for anyone else on the field.

But we’ve had worse refs. Obviously didn’t want to spoil the game; but he should have been off for me. He was subbed off to save him.

Only just right there as that free kick on the edge of the box could have gone either way....

The female linesperson certainly didn't inspire much confidence. I noticed that every time the ball went out near her she kept her arms by her sides until the ref pointed one way or the other. Only then did she put up her flag, agreeing with him. So really there was no chance that in the 91st minute she would raise the flag and then put it across her chest in the traditional "that's a penalty" indication. Maybe she was instructed to do all that, but it's not right is it?

Equally the one on the other side riled everybody by putting his flag up to disallow Kane's goal. I think there should have at least been a discussion between the two of them before it was chalked off.

Has he booked the Plymouth player for the first offence on Connell then it would have calmed him done, but he let it go and he committed a few naughty challenges after that.

The female line person was useless. When Tedic came on he was in a wrestling match and she gave nothing. On one occasion 2 of their players wrestled him to the ground about 4 yards in front of her.

Lisa Rashid put her flag up that often against us I thought she was trying to wind up Bruce Dyer with him being there.

Extended highlights reminded me re Kane's clearance, clearly heading for their half, ricochets off their players head and goes out in front of her - throw in for them. o_O

Bad decision, but she didn't make it. For every throw in, she waited for the ref to signal then put her flag up in agreement.

If you watch it again, after the ball went out the Plymouth player goes over and rants at her before she's even put her flag up - in his favour.

Yes, that was my opinion throughout the game.
What was the point her being there - to make up the numbers I presume.
