Only if they secure Bobby Thomas on a permanent deal and give duff a lifetime contract All jokes aside, the improvement from last season on and off the pitch has been great.
Nice cast out, not got mine yet bridges have been built but a good run doesn’t erase all that’s gone before. Nice try tho
Its a genuine question, I am impressed with the recruitment, the media and communication has been good, they seem to have a passion for our club and they have put their own money in. Duff has been excellent but would he have been as good under Conway and Lee I don't know why the owners want to be here but I am happy with what we have now.
No. It’s early days. They still retain a CE I have no confidence in and huge question marks over the ground. They attracted a great manager but if the results were different the tune would be. Let’s see how it plays out
The recruitment going back to young British players like connell, Phillips etc has been better. Still need to get shut of the deadwood signed under conman and Co like iseka and oulare. Duff was a great appointment.
This bothers me about our fan base. We're never happy in the moment. "Things might be okay now, but they'll turn bad and when they do I'll be ready!" Our club may not be the biggest or best. We might not be the most well run club in the 92 but we're far from the worst and I think there are a lot of people behind the scenes (club staff, BFCST etc) who have good ideas and the right intentions.
Let me correct this from my opinion "The recruitment going back to young GOOD players". Couldn't give a **** where they are from as long as they can be arsed and play well/as a team for us. Apologies if nickpicking - and agree about Duff.
Maybe I worded it abit wrong apologise... we seem to get it wrong everytime we got to the European market bar Anderson. Schmidt, kransmuller, oulare, freiser, iseka etc
Far too early for that. You can't make up for the mess of last season in two minutes. Run us in the black, get us back to the Championship, sort the ground issues out, get key players like Brad/Mads under new contracts etc and we will see.
Same for any club to be fair, bud. I thought Frieser was alright given the price. Andersen, as you mention. Don't forget Helik & Solbauer. Bassi & Dike albeit on loan. Did Dougall sign under these? I even quite liked Bambo! We have just as many crap British players as foreign. As long as they have the work ethic of Duff I couldn't care less where they come from
I don't think any owners, at any club, ever really have full support, do they? Even Cryne had his critics. As did John Dennis, during the PL/promotion years. I think they absolutely deserve credit for how they've responded this season though.
Wasn't trying to be an arse with this! This is what I meant. Had a few so apologies if it came across as an argument!! COYR!
Not at all mate, I agree with you. I think the thing about the foreign lads we signed, it's like they shared the same mentality as our former P.E teachers we called head coaches & Conway. Conway even said Oulare was via someone he knew.
Suppose so... I wasn't freisers biggest fan a trier but that's about it. Oulare iseka and schmidt all expensive flops.
They'll never get everyones full support. Some will sit on the fence now, saying I told you so if it goes tits up. Tis the nature of the beast so to speak. But I believe we should be giving full support. They do appear to be listening to the fans. The communications are light years ahead of what we've ever had b4. I get the feeling these directors do have the club at heart and want us to succeed. Within financial constraints. Whether they will continue to pour vasts amounts of money to cover the shortfalls in income is wait and see.
They do have my full support as I think they “get it” more than Chien or Conman ever did (or wanted to?). They have made mistakes but I think they’re learning and ultimately want the best for the club.
