Not long ago the overriding wisdom was that AI would do the mundane, repetitive jobs, leaving the creative stuff to humans. I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that it's nowhere near that cut and dried.

It can write essays, poems, scripts news etc pretty convincingly. Its feared students will employ it to write essays And as for marking? Save money on academic staff by getting Chat to mark the essays. Machine communicates with machine - all we have to do is obey its instructions This is not going to end well.

The language/image processing is brilliant. The “facts” that it is built on less so. It will write a brilliant essay but often on a totally wrong answer.

I can’t use a machine that doesn’t know who scored the winner in the 1912 FA Cup Final. Bloody amateurs.

To be fair there are plenty of humans who are well capable of that, such as my daughter.
