Wow, the east lower far end block has been opened!!

Find it madness how it isn’t normally when some other stadiums just have a line of stewards separating home and away fans, and we have separate stands!

I have one concern, how many of these will be Weds fans obtaining home end tickets?

None. You need a booking history for the home end

Why madness ? . Why open it up fully when other parts of ground are not full. There's Less likelihood of friction. Fans trying to get to each other. Allus a mad rush of numpties making for the corners when getting the face on. Makes good sense to me.
Bit surprised we've opened it so early given the west stand has a few hundred seats to go at still.

I think there is another positive to this. I really think that there is a much more collaborative approach between the local authority and the club since the changes at board level. I always had the feeling that Conway had a bit of a bully-boy approach to the ground and that this soured relations with the council. It just seems that sensible changes are slowly happening from what are, presumably, sensible discussions.

Was it the last L**&s game at home when those "neutral" fans from Germany were on here after someone getting them tickets in the Reds end? ;)

Last time we played Leeds there were Leeds fans in the family stand. All adults, not a kid amongst them.

Not unusual to have fans mixed in.
I spoke to mi cuz at the Derby game and castigated him for not having brought his red and white scarf. He sez. " I got it nicked" I sez "that was late sixties at a testimonial or county cup game against wendy, on the paddock (brewery stand) yer tight git"

Because over recent years it’s obvious that some people will go on the east stand but aren’t keen on going in the west.

I'd already mentioned in a previous post that they may use this tactic. Because of the numpties. If they'd opened up EL7 straight away. It definitely would have encouraged that sort to go there. And been full of em. Why else do you think they did it the way they did. At least hopefully it's full of sane folk. Not mainly troublecausers.

Bugger. I thought this was a new article, when it appeared at the top of my page! Was about to put @Terry Nutkins back on ticket watch. Disappointed.

Not just the last time we played them either. The game we beat them 5-2 there were a group of five or more Leeds fans in the family stand in the UES.

I have no doubt there will be Wednesday fans that have managed to bag tickets for the home end - especially if they have a Barnsley postcode or someone who can buy a ticket for them.

My son's girlfriend on the other hand couldn't buy one in her own right because she has an Oldham postcode. Doesn't matter that she's been to mid-day home games this season and two or three away games...

I’ve got a Harrogate post code and never have a problem buying tickets.

To be fair Harrogate is a bit posher than Oldham, probably think you're less of a risk as a result

Very true when they used to open it up straight away trouble has happened there before v Wendy's and Leeds. Like you say hopefully sane people have bought tickets there.

That reminds me of when I struggled to buy one when we were playing Leeds at home. I didn’t think about the fact that I was calling from a Leeds number until the person on the phone in the box office pointed it out! I had booking history though so got one in the end.
