14 clean sheets in 23 unbeaten. Typical Darren Moore team - not a great deal of flair, but difficult to break down. We’re capable of beating them again, no doubt. It’ll be a great game - but if we come away with a draw, it’ll still be a good point for both teams. They’ll be just as worried about us too. Also, they have the unbeaten run to protect, which may make the a little more cautious.
I watched them tonight. They looked shattered towards the end. Plus they had injuries to key players, Windass went down and got substituted for an off the ball incident. They’re beatable, very very beatable. Bolton should’ve won today, the second half there was only going to be one team who was going to win it, fair play to Wednesday though, they rode out the pressure. However, Bolton should’ve had a stone wall penalty at the end which was waved away. I fancy us on Tuesday like I said, they looked shattered today and I’ve no doubt our relentless pressure will cause them some issues. Hopefully it’s enough for 3 points.
I think maintaining an unbeaten run like that is mentally draining too. Glad it was a draw tonight - keeps that unbeaten pressure on them.
Yes I think it get's to a point where your unbeaten run is so long, that you'd rather sit back and play for the draw than risking losing it by going for a win - a lot of people say that about the Arsenal invincibles, they got a lot of draws that season, and even some of their players mention how the just didn't want to lose due to that
Both teams have a tendency to score early goals. In our last 14 games, we've scored 13 times in the first half hour. Wednesday have scored 15 times. We've actually scored 12 times in the opening half an hour in our last 9 games. This game could be won or lost early. The clear difference that I can see is, of those early goals for us, they're all goals to put us into the lead in games we went on to win (with Norwood's opener at Accrington being the only exception). Some of Wednesday's are equalising goals, which to me says that if we do strike first, they have a tendency to go to another gear to get back in the game quickly. I think the longer it takes them to get back in the game though, the better chance we'll have in seeing the game out, and maybe adding to the scoreline. It's going to be an intriguing match.
Help me out , was it the copious amounts of guiness I had drank prior to watching the second half or were they as poor as I remembered. From what I remember Bolton should have won they looked toothless Wednesday. I'm confident we can beat them if we can repeat the performance we put in against Plymouth.
It’s to hoped players aren’t focusing on Wednesday game like a lot on here are.......we have highly important game today first......got to be careful not to get ahead of ourselves and take it one game at a time!!......
We were vulnerable for a few minutes after our first two goals against Derby. Hope it won't be the same this time if we score.
Every one of the top 4 has 10-12 games left, they'll all draw and lose at least once in that time. Not the end of the world if ours is today, many more twists and turns before the end and there'll still be stuff to be decided on the last day.
I predict that if we avoid defeat in these next two games that we will be unbeaten for the rest of the season. 92 points at least
No, you didn’t quite drink enough. From my viewpoint too there was only going to be one winner in the second half. Wednesday weren’t very good. And to be honest, Bolton bringing on Cameron Jerome killed them, lazy old man. If they didn’t do that they’d probably have won. Today is huge for us, take 3 points come away injury and suspension free and take it to them Tuesday. Although, they won’t admit it but it’s a big game for them, they don’t want to be losing their unbeaten record to us. So they’ll be bang up for it, more than playing a Bolton at home.
