Think they were expecting to go up this year

Really sound bloke. Had a chat with him when we did the Dundalk trip, and he was absolutely top notch with us.

Six wins in five months and one point from nine. 14th in the table when promotion was the aim. Surprised he lasted so long.

They missed their best chance of promotion when they had James Vaughan, Jay spearing and Peter Clarke, cracking spine for a league 2 team.

    :):)
I did a Boro stadium tour, the year we beat them 3-2, Jason Scotland winner. MM was a friendly, invited us into the away dressing room, which they don’t usually do on match day, but there were a few Barnsley fans in the group.
Craig Hignett was the host too, in the posh corporate bit. :)

Remember when we sacked Flitcroft in Nov '13, and Micky was in charge for a few games, before we reappointed Wilson.
If we'd given him the job for the season and backed him in the January window, I wonder if he could have kept us up that season ?.

Yeah it was a bad season, and it was hard to take seeing as it came straight after the amazing escape act under Flicker.
What went so wrong ehh from one season to the next. I know a lot of fans wanted Mellon to get the chance, but it would have been a near impossible task.

Think he only had a few games as caretaker manager , we won at Brighton and then I remember watching us against Burnley away and we outplayed them but lost . Then they gave job to Danny

I seem to remember an awful game against Yeovil as well in mid December, was Micky still in charge by then ?.
Then Danny got the job of course, in the week before Christmas, and we drew 0-0 away at Leeds.

After beating Brighton away he was in with a chance at the job but then his team were awful at home to Yeovil and we only drew. Had his chance at Oakwell you could say

Hey is it a coincidence, that Danny's first 2 games then were after Christmas, against Derby & Bolton.
Who just happen to be our big rivals at the moment in the race for the Play offs. ;)
