Damn it. did I miss the only penalty for us in the league this season. Tonight was always going to be tough. We gave ourselves a bit to do with the awful start but for a large part of the game we were the better side. The ref let a lot go in Barnsley’s favour. A Wednesday defender wafts his arm to the ball, he gives a pen. The Barnsley defender did and he didn’t. Some of Barnsley’s tackling was suspect and they had to be like that because of how well we played. We need to bounce back and I’m confident we will.
TBF they have actually called us a good team in the main. But please feel free to slag them off. Effing Pigs.
Booo!! Letting that go, tonight. I’ll be back self righteously preaching tomorrow, though. So watch your best back..
Well if they think the Ref missed a penalty then they’ll accept that he also missed Gregory’s kick on Connell in the first half. As the commentator said, if VAR is present he goes….and doesn’t score 2 goals. Millwall tw*t.
Tbf I'm mildly disappointed. I was hoping to see a complete meltdown on there, but they seem to actually have taken the result on the chin. They seem happy enough with their performance. Consensus seems to be that their unbeaten run had to end eventually, and they're confident with the run in they have. Onto Exeter now. Full week to refresh and go again.
Derby could yet have a big say in this promotion race. Still to play both Ipswich and Wednesday. Can’t see many games Wednesday will lose a home with the possible exception of the Derby game, but they’ve a few tricky away games. Forest Green should be a formality for them, but they’ve got Cheltenham, Bristol Rovers, Burton and Shrewsbury away, all of whom have caused a few upsets this season.
Wednesday will go up no problems they have players and a style that suit this league. They have their way of doing things as do we...talking to my dad last night we agreed we were disappointed with the owls... a strong physical side with barry Bannon (arguably the best player in league one). Their tactics were to hit the channels with long hard balls, which can work well versus a 5..3..2. They have, if not the oldest teams in all four divisions, then one of them. With all that experience I expected so much more than them. Plymouth football wise, were twice the team. That said at 2..2 it was all Wednesday and we had to dig deep and keep compact. Duff then makes the subs and the rest is what happened next. I did put a post on here at half time saying luke Thomas would make a difference...and he did, he has pace gets between the opposition lines and takes the game to teams and is a great link between midfield and attack. Fantastic night, think our neighbour's can look at that and if they are honest realise that we are the better footballing team.
That's exactly how I saw them play everything went to there right or left center backs and they just tried pumping over either cadden or Williams head for them to run on to
