3 pupils and 3 teachers shot dead.
How many must needlessly die before the Americans finally tighten up their gun laws?

No they are far more concerned about protecting their children from gays and drag queens. Or even statues. That statue of David far more dangerous than the odd Kalashnikov

Sadly serious gun law reform will never happen in the USA. They just love them too much.

As Trump said It’s people who kill people, not guns. The gun lobby owns the Republican Party. Their “right to bear arms” is a bit like “sovereignty “ is to the right wingers here! It’s all they can see - not the destruction it causes

This will always happen forever. Its vile, heartbreaking, completely against what we all feel as acceptable to a forward thinking population but this will never stop in America.

Sadly the NRA have so much influence in American politics that the gun laws and controls will never be changed. It is one of the most powerful lobbying groups in America and actually has a massive influence on the way voting goes at the polls. Their members will actively vote against anyone who has an opposing view to their beliefs. You can’t fix stupid

At times it looks as though the average American loves the right to bear arms more than they love their kids.

The linked images are Xmas family pics taken by Republican congressmen. One of them represents the place the most recent shooting took place.

120 guns for every 100 Americans.

Nothing will ever change. But what do you do about these school shootings if not? I believe something like 94% of mass shootings are in 'gun-free' zones i.e schools and churches etc. So, the morbid response if they're not willing to change, is having security guards or police there carrying? Its unfathomable to me. At Ulvade school shootings though police were outside and got told by their seniors not to go in whilst kids were getting slaughtered, in fact they stopped the kids parents going in too.

    Its so alien to me.

It's a strange place in a lot of ways... a few years ago we were stopping at a hotel in Scarborough and I got chatting to a visiting Yank, lovely bloke with a Brit wife. We were chatting over a pint or two and he was saying his hobbies were target shooting and darts. He and his son had an AK47 for the shooting part, and his local supermarket sold the military calibre rounds that the gun used, but in his area they could only use darts with plastic tips as metal tips were banned by law in 'pub' darts league's .

Makes me sad to think this is what kids are being taught at the start of the school day...

The sad reality can really be found in the comments on there. More people seem concerned that two of the kids in the second photo support different NFL teams, rather than the big ******* weapons they're holding.
