Honestly thought we would sell a fair few but looking at the ticketing plan we haven’t sold many at all . This team deserves our support We can’t just turn up for big games
It won't happen overnight. Always going to get occasional fans turning up for bigger games. It's just football, and there's probably all kinds of reasons why people may need to pick and choose which games they can get to. Average crowds are still gradually increasing though, I think? We just have to keep doing our thing.
Morecambe was never going to be a big gate realistically.. Anyway should please the.. ad sooner hev 8500 loyal (but quite) home fans than 12000 part-timers.
End of the day, the players need to perform their best for those that are there. And I'm sure there will be support for them. COYR!
People who say they aren't going because they can't afford to, wouldn't be saying the same if we had Man United or Liverpool instead of Morecambe. Just the way it is.
A full oakwell is unbelievable but the “part timers” against Wednesday in the west stand were a bloody nuisance up n down to bogs back n forth for snap was a bloody nightmare
You can’t say that as a general comment when you don’t know for sure. If I was on a budget that limited my games, I would also choose the ‘bigger games’ They may also be saving for possible play- off games and Wembley
Many who can't afford the Morecambe game wouldn't be going if we were playing Liverpool because they can't afford it. Many more who can't afford Morecambe would have found the cash if we had been playing Liverpool. Some others who say they can't afford Morecambe probably could but want to save the cash for another game. It's just a shame we haven't done a discounted offer for the remaining games.
Maybe a lot of people will turn up and pay on the gate? I never used to buy tickets in advance and just paid on the day, I do now but only because it actually costs less to buy in advance. I think this is a bad move, discouraging last minute decisions to attend.
I do feel they missed a trick off the back of putting Wendy to the sword - ticket offers should have been across all their socials the next morning - all six remaining home games as a package deal - £100? Probably why I don't run a football club.....
There will always be those who come whatever the circumstances and those who turn up on big days or when success is imminent, exactly like 96/97 when we only had 8000 against Swindon and probably only 9000 of the 14 against Sheff Utd in March.Ive no problem with people saying they have lost interest, cannot afford it or finding it hard physically to go but its those who pull the club down constantly over things they havent a clue about and come out with the favourite juvenile statement,The dint come and see me when i was bad.Its happened for at least 50yrs to my knowledge.
Or they pick and choose games. Well I do anyway when it comes to away matches. I know I can probably afford half a dozen away matches a season, so I try and plan either the bigger games or grounds I've not visited before.
