    Already tried that round here, Morton Hall Prison was an immigration removal centre (awaiting deportation) between 2011-21 and then converted to a normal Prison but to hold ‘Male Foreign National Offenders’ who at the end of their prison term would move back to their place of origin.

    Unfortunately this sort of thing has been going on a lot longer than most realise.

    Amusing seeing the Lincolnshire NIMBYs on the news last night coming up with reasons why the asylum seekers shouldn't be housed at Scampton. It seems the perfect solution to me, the base has been closed, and is full of now empty decent houses where the people can live securely, protected from racist attacks.

    Saw some on. BBC this morning and thought was embarrassing.
    Same as anywhere else, it’s OK as long not near me!!
    I actually agree it has secure has facilities for everything needed to house and provide for people.
    Wether it’s cheaper than Hotels etc I don’t know.

    On a side note I was slightly surprised but only because there are 2 NuB’s built under there in the 90’s so not sure if they are still in use.
