Barnsley are in great form but are also not as good as their form suggests, a bit like we were towards the end of our 23 game run, they have a couple of tough fixtures left and need us and Plymouth to fully implode to catch us both. Wednesday saying that about us haha. They are incredibly bitter. We've just beaten them, Portsmouth, Derby, Plymouth, Wycombe within weeks of each other, all home games being 3+ goals each. Just pummelled Morecambe 5-0 without breaking a sweat. But yes, we ain't as good as our form suggests
“Barnsley aren’t as good as their form suggests.” Another gem from a Wednesdayite. We’ve got 54 points from the last 23 games. 17 wins. Top scoring team in the country in 2023. If only we ‘were’ as good as our form suggests.
Don't get the comnent from wawaw Barnsley are in great form but are also not as good as their form suggests, a bit like we were towards the end of our 23 game run, How many goals did we put past them!? We've not been scraping 1 0 victories other than Wycombe.
I think it's mainly because they don't know how goals can influence the course of a game, which is clouding their judgement of our 4-2 win. They seem to think that because they lumped a load of balls into our box and headed a few into the stand, that they dominated the game. And didn't seem to understand that a team trying to be top of the league, on a 23 game unbeaten run, is likely to put their opposition under pressure when they are 2-0 down. What they could question though, is our away form. We've won one, drawn one and lost one of the last three away games. Normally that would be fine for top 2 form when you're on the run of home wins that we are on, but we have a lot of ground to make up, so any dropped points feel crucial.
They were full of confidence that their hone form would pull them through. Worked well for them Satdy!
One thing that did amuse me on the Wednesday site was their name for Oakwell, they've gone from the pretty weak Jokewell to the Dingledome. If we ever did move from Oakwell The Dingledome would get my vote every time..
Would love to see our games if we were as good as our form suggests. Flipping heck we'd be regularly seeing seven like we did against Huddersfield.
