Trouble is with this sort of thing - how does one prove categorically that he's not identifying with transgender? Opens a whole can of worms this sort of behaviour. I'm not saying he's not a nob just saying how does one disprove his explanation?
Can't say for absolute sure, as I wasn't there. However I imagine judgment comes into it. 1. Has he ever identified as transgender at any other point?....Apparently not 2. Was he being offensive / brash / obnoxious in his tone / language?...Sounds like it 3. Was he hammered?...Sounds like it 4. Does he have a track record of behaving like a complete cap end?...Without a doubt I think the most likely conclusion is probably that he was just being a c0ck. Again.

On this occasion, the article does say that he claimed to identify as a woman 'to show solidarity' and not because he's actually transgender. I do get your point though.
He said it was "to show solidarity with women". Given his previous for right-wing bell'ooks, I'd translate that as "to stick two up at trans people". It's a sensitive issue, but this just seems like an out and out case of being an inflammatory twát.

You've articulated this much better than I have. The article is a bit naughty too as its making out that this is a transgender issue when it isn't. The only people involved aren't transgender, and aren't claiming to be. It's about a man who either has a very problematic persona, or mental health problems. Either way, I think he needs help.
