I've heard if Darren Moore doesn't take Wednesday up, he's willing to take a step down to Chelsea for that job
Utterly bizzarre. I guess they're hoping he'll come in and galvanise them in some way, based on the respect he has with the Club. It surely can't be based on his abilities as a coach.
It is according to talk sport, he's just in for the last 9 games and no longer. One of the presenters said, what, even if he wins the Champions League? Sure, would love to see them get past Madrid. Don't like Lampard as a coach, bit like Wayne Rooney. Big name but ineffectual.
It happened with Di Matteo though. Thats why I think its a no brainer for Lampard. His reputation is already very low so won't be anyworse if he doesn't do well this time, but he could potentially fluke the champions league or go on a decent run in the Premier league and start rebuilding said reputation as a coach
Definitely a no brainer for Lampard, what has he got to lose? He isn't Di Matteo either, I hold Di Matteo in much higher regard. People used to say Lampard is an intelligent guy because he reads books, which is an insult to advanced pre-schoolers. The thing I like the most about Frank is the effort he put in as a lad to make it as a player. But as a coach, not feeling it. Unproven really. Don't get the appointment other than a 9-game stop-gap on a wave of nostalgia and to somewhat appease the fans after the Potter era. Chelsea are really in disarray aren't they. An overweight yank with too much money playing Champ Man in real life, and Potter is made to look bad despite having to try and select 11 players to gel out of a squad of 75. Difficult task.
If we pip Weds to 2nd and they end up losing v Derby who came 6th, some Wednesday fans will be questioning Moore (80 games for them, 73 for us). Would be piss funny though!
