Shrews in poor form, we're good at home. Forest Green not a given as Wednesday proved, but certainly very winnable. 6 points from those and you never know what the top 4 will look like. Only 6 points in it and we still have Ipswich at home too. Little margin for error now though.
No chance, we’ve run out of games. Strategy should be to secure 4th place at least and try and rest up for a game or two. We’re looking leggy.
Gotta keep going even if autos not possible. Resting up for a couple of games and dipping form not great for going into the playoffs
When we've finally hit the point that we are looking for Accrington to get something at Hillsborough and Ipswich not to steamroll another lower-mid table club, we are in the realms of "mathematically possible" rather than "possible"
I can see it now, we get to Wembley in the playoffs final, it goes to penalties and we lose when the referee refuses to give us any.
All about preparing for the play offs now. Part of that will involve getting our away form back on track. I’d be tempted to save Cole for home games given his difference in form home vs away.
Yeah, but it feels different. Even during their run, Wednesday fans (the sensible ones) were suggesting that they were never really convincing. Meanwhile, go on Ipswich's forum now and they are purring. They are hitting top gear now and it's clear they aren't slipping up at this stage. For me, it's who goes up with Ipswich. I haven't given up on automatic, but realistically, it's very much an outside chance now. We have done amazingly well recently but it looks to me like it will be a step too far. It seems that as soon as the autos became a realistic chance, through a long period of outstanding form, that's the point where the pressure seems have built and we have looked a bit leggy. If the autos are not going to happen for us, I want it to be over as quickly as possible. I don't want to go into the last game with a slim chance based on everybody else losing and then miss out because they don't lose. That can deflate a side and the play off winners are usually the side that goes into them with momentum. We need to hit them fully focused and firing.
Not being funny but thank the lord you’re not in charge mate. it’s all to play for, you don’t ever give up. take each game as it comes, one by one.
I get what you're saying but if we are flying and have momentum it could go down to the last game anyway, and by that point it will be hearts in mouths time. The beautiful game eh
