I don’t want this to sound like a major overreaction or anything to yesterday but I was just wondering what impact the past two away games will have on Duffs thinking. Isted has been immense and surprised just about everyone with his performances but I’ve absolutely no doubt that he was initially brought in as a number 2. Following the mistake at Exeter (where he parried out the shot which led to the penalty - if we can remember what they actually are) and getting beaten at his near post today, I wonder if a recall for Collins will happen on Monday.

Such a tough decision to make but it's that argument when you've a player who you own, who has had a very good season and will most likely be playing Championship football next season regardless of the outcome for us this season or continue with Isted. I personally think well see Collins in goal from now on.

I think i would go back to Collins and get him ready for the play offs.

Isteds been great but i do have more confidence when Collins plays.

Just a personal opinion mind as Isteds played well majority of his time. I just feel Collins is the better out n out keeper.

Didn't realise at the time how bad that 1st was to concede. What a howler. Time for Collins to come back.

I've always thought Collins , but Isted is settled into the team now so maybe changing things wouldn't be great? But on the other hand better to change sooner rather than later if that decision has to be made imo.

Isted instead, instead of Isted. Isted then.

Collins would certainly be a better choice if we find ourselves a goal up with 15 minutes to play. He'd easily waste 10 of those minutes...

Did the movement of our defenders unsight him?

I'd like to know the stats around shots saved, but I know @SuperTyke has done some of the leg work around that. I reckon Isted's numbers are miles better than Collins'.

He commands his area much better than Brad too. His kicking is better, and I'd argue he's just as good at coming out and sweeping up.

I don't think the 'clangers' are as bad as everyone is making out, and it's not as though Collins hasn't made a few either.

Dropping Isted now does nothing but damage his confidence, when for me, he's clearly the better keeper.

I haven't seen a view of the goal where I can actually see what happened. The highlights video has a shadow over the area we need to see. Did it go through his legs, or between him and the post?

That first goal looked a really soft one to concede but not sure if it goes past him on the outside, inside or through his legs. The shadow makes it impossible to tell. He’s not looked as good in recent games to be honest.
    It’s Duff’s call and I’ll trust whatever he decides….

Trouble is he wastes so much time before we are a goal up , he drives me up the wall especially when he taps it out when the opposition are closing in on our defenders , he continually punches & rarely catches putting extra pressure on our defenders, Isted seems to instil more confidence at the back & we seem to be better as a unit when he is in goal .

After a few bad results Exeter Burton which have just about cost us automatic promotion it's time to prepare for the playoffs.

We spoke after the match of a few changes that might help strengthen for the playoffs

    Collins for Isted
L Thomas or Benson for Phillips
Norwood or Cole instead of Norwood and Cole.
Give Kane, Williams, Cadden and Connell a rest for the remaining away games just keep them active by playing the home remaining matches.

I don’t blame Isted too much for the Exeter game. Our set up for defending that corner was appalling. We had everyone back, and the majority of them in the six yard box, while all the attackers hung back. And then nobody blocked the pull back or was quick enough to get the rebound after the shot.

It could very easily be argued that Collins has made no errors in the recent past in the ilk that Isted has.

Isted has done well overall but it has to be said that he has contributed to our recent losses with mistakes.

The argument about him commanding his area is valid though one I don’t necessarily agree with. Yes he looks to catch it more often - though he doesn’t always come for the ball as he isn’t the tallest.

I also feel we are setup with the back three and midfield five to ten yards further forward when Collins plays. That can have its drawbacks but for me has more positive outcome than negative on most days.

I’d go back to Collins now. All he did to find himself out of the team is get injured. Though I wouldn’t be surprised or upset if Duff continued with Isted. However if he does and another clanger is dropped, you’d have to question it.

I suspect that Collins will return though whether it is Monday, given the quick turnaround and lack of time to train the defence with the slightly altered setup, I doubt.

Fair point but we're by no means out of the running for automatic. Ipswich surely won't win every game until they play us. We need to win the next 4, but that's hardly beyond the realms of possibility. All against teams who are fighting relegation (tough, but they're down there for a reason) or who have nothing to play for.

I think he’s set himself up to collect the cross but not noticed that the player managed to get a little touch that diverted it past him and the post.

Isted had nothing to do really yesterday apart from pick the ball out of the net twice. The second was a good strike but the first was pretty awful to be beaten at the near post like that. I think anyway, it wasn’t the easiest to see through the shadows.

Collins never lost his position due to performance, it was an injury. However I can’t see Duff changing it and I think it probably would be harsh on Isted too.
