If you are going to play high press you need to use subs, just like Big Val did. If their keeper hadn't made some brilliant saves near the death everyone would have lauded the subs coming on.

I think you have to take into account the state of the pitch in the way we play. I think that's why our play looks more fluid when we play at home, when you compare the pitch at Oakwell to some others in league 1.

Seem to also recall he made some comments when signing for Ipswich about being glad to be out of here.

I agree. Think he is definitely the sort you want in the dressing room, and top notch with his community work.

Two-on two-off at the same time seems to be part of the game plan so as not to disrupt the formation. No Plan B? Obviously I'm not a regular so I'll stand correcting but that's just how I see it.

Luke Thomas was very disappointing, but I, and others too, it seems, thought Benson played well. Personally, I prefer him to Kane, though I suspect that others do not.

It's one or the other though. I don't see how they play in the same midfield. Connell is playmaker. They play the pushing on role & Phillips is the set piece / long range shooter & assist man. Admittedly he's had a bit of a dry patch, but his stats for the season are very impressive.

If it's one or the other, I think I would give Benson a go. He plays more forward passes, is better at set pieces and has a better shot than Kane. I suspect I am in a minority who see it this way though.

Agree with all this. One of the most frustrating games I've watched. Obviously the better team but one of those days. Their keeper made some good routine saves because our finishing wasn't clinical. The non-pen which left me fuming. I don't think the subs left us any worse off than pre subs. But we are weak when teams get in behind us and cross in and we sometimes give attackers too much time on the edge of the box. What really annoyed me was the way we just overcrowded the box as we were throwing everything forward - there was no room for shots or space to jink into. If we'd stretched more across the final third they couldn't have packed the box as much because they would have had to mark our outliers. Anyway, we move on and win the all the games remaining and see where it leaves us. Also, I think Tedic is really going to come good in the future as he gets game time. Unfortunately, probably not with us - although I still think he's useful for us.

For me he gets too distracted - lets his head drop. He’s not strong in the tackle either. There’s definite talent there but he looks like a player who needs alot of support to function. The kind of player who will do amazing things when it’s going well, but gets lost when it isn’t. Kane is a better partner for Connell from what I have seen. It’s those two I would be keeping on the pitch and let the subs fit in around them.
