Absolute dinosaur of a manager, his players were timewasting from the first minute and how they surrounded the ref everytime there was a foul was disgraceful, they contributed to the refs display by their intimidation
Can't get excited by this, we're flying and they're going to do what they need to to go away with something from the game Tbh, needed the antics in the second half because it had got a bit boring!
He will have seen how Burton rattled us and decided to try and do the same. I have no issues at all with the opposition tactics. It isn't their job to make it easy to beat them. I would like to know why Bobby Thomas was mouthing at him at full time though instead of being with the rest of his team mates applauding the fans. Duff didn't sound impressed on Radio Sheffield.
Wasn't a happy chappy, young Thomas. Thought there was going to be handbags when all the team rushed back mid crowd applause!
Their tactic from the very off was to get into our heads. They even swapped ends before kick off to get us out of our regular routine.
timed every throwing and corner between 15-20 seconds. I just don’t get it….they’re not going up, they’re not going down…just go for it and try something in preparation for next season…baffles me
https://www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2023/april/post-barnsley--steve-cotterill/ There is showing fight and there is busting open two heads. Cannot believe he thought they should have had a penalty.
What would he make of our non penalty on Good Friday then ? Never a penalty today, thank goodness it went for us for once.
Can't connect with the penalty claim he talks about but, otherwise, I can't decry what he said. We missed some easy goals and definitely deserved to win but we've played much better previously. At half-time at Burton talked with a mate and we both felt it had a feel of Morecambe (away) about it. We aren't at our best right now but I've certainly not given up on automatic.
Well up near the top of my 'Steve Evans List' of managers I don't want to ever see anywhere near the 'Home' dugout at Oakwell.
If I’d to watch his idea of football every week I’d pack in. His side today were a disgrace. The sooner he retires the better, absolute dinosaur.
I didn't look across before the match started but did anyone in the west stand see the two managers shake hands/hug each other as they came together? I would expect some show of affection seeing as Cotterill was at Cheltenham as Duff came through the playing ranks and beyond. You could say he was Duff's mentor. What a difference in the two men though - chalk and cheese.
