Are we going to appeal his red card?

In an alternate universe where all appeals are heard fairly and all clubs were treated equally then I think we would appeal and the red would be reduced to a yellow. But we don't exist in that universe, we live in this universe where the big clubs get preferential treatment from the FA and smaller clubs are simply ignored (Hume), or treated harshly (McGeehan). If we appealed, they would probably increase the ban.

There’s absolutely no way it would be overturned. The TV picture doesn’t give us a clear enough view and the referee was only yards away, so whilst it was never a red, we have no chance of proving the ref made a clear and obvious error.

We should appeal it. And it should be overturned.

    However...

There is the risk that the appeal fails and the ban then becomes four matches. I'd rather have him back after three than miss four.

The appeal process is notoriously unreliable and the cost outweighs the benefit when we have two players (Larkeche and Kitching) who can play there if necessary.

The appeal if lost, does not automatically mean an extra match ban. Only if they think you have basically wasted the panels time with a frivolous claim .

It wouldn’t be seen as frivolous in my eyes.

It’s hardly a banker of a red card.

I’d appeal it. Mowatt’s was worse that we had overturned the other year.

Don't think we will - wasn't clear enough. Could Luke Thomas fill that roll at FGR?

It was not even a yellow. If it was, it was a yellow for their man too.

    Will we appeal? Probably not.

I think we all know he got it wrong, but the FA have a set of strict guidelines to follow, so for the reasons I stated above we’d have no chance. The bloke on Sky doesn’t have to follow those guidelines, as he’s just giving an opinion.

Larkeche will play in Cadden's place with Cotter coming onto the bench I imagine.
He did ok at Cheltenham when we won 4-0.

Disappointed for Cadden but the club made the decision it wasn’t wise to appeal so we move on.

Larkeche will likely come in as a straight swap and the shape/make up of the team will stay roughly the same you’d imagine.

I’d also bring Luke Thomas or Josh Benson in for Phillips who has looked jaded. Herbie Kane might need a rest soon as well. Connell we can’t afford not to play really.

Hopefully it galvanises the resolve in the team. I now just assume we will be on the wrong end of more bad decisions over the remaining games. Sad indictment, but I genuinely feel that's where we are now. My confidence in refs to get the big decisions right, is rock bottom. We need to make sure we do enough in games, to make sure they're not game-changers. My biggest worry is the play-offs. Seems highly possible that refereeing decisions could decide the outcome.
