Just seen the alternative angle. I knew he'd cupped his ears, but didn't realise he'd gestured 'going down' and waved goodbye. Unless someone in the crowd has said summat particularly abusive to him, and he was aiming it at them directly, that's out of order for me.
Shithousery is exactly that. S#:t . Show some class. I like Norwood but goading fans of a small club just about to be relegated is not on my list of worthy celebrations. By all means celebrate with your own fans- after all they have travelled a long way.
It's not something I like to see but maybe there's been a bit of ill feeling between him and Forest Green or their fans? I would hope that in the likely event of Connor Chaplin scoring for Ipswich at Oakwell a week on tuesday, there's none of this. As far as I know he left Barnsley amicably (please tell me if I'm wrong on that).
Apparently he was getting “w@nker” chanted at him in the warmup. I watched the game on iFollow so no idea if true but would make a bit more sense.
I remember shouting about paddy kennys wife going behind his back or leaving him at bumhole lane not great i know but they scored and i swear he wa celebrating straight at me,i had to take it on chin like,it shut me up we lost 1.0 i think.looking back it wa funny shut mi right up.
I'm sure he did an interview and came across as less than happy with how things were handled by the club. I'll try and dig it out, unless somebody else is quicker - it was definitely discussed on here, but not sure if I'm misremembering how clear it was.
He definitely did get that chant, for about 10 seconds. If that's all it was for, there's no way that chant warranted him doing that. It was about 20 fans chanting it for about 10 seconds.
Bit knobish of him even if he's our own player. He's a "professional" Football player and paid enough to ignore the opposition fans. Don't behave on the safety of the pitch differently to how you would out and about.
Really no need for him to behave like that. So a very small minority called him a ****** for a few seconds, the best thing he did was score a goal (that would have pissed them off no end), but be the better person and go celebrate with your teammates, supporters and coaching team.
The thing is, he's doubled down on it too, by sharing the celebration on Twitter. I hope Duff has a word with him.
Not the first time. He posted on Twitter when we beat them at Oakwell - something about thanking the 13 travelling fans for the 3 points. And while at Tranmere he posted pics of him shushing FGR fans (possibly in the play offs?). I think someone posted some of this stuff just after he signed (possibly the same one labelling him bin juice).
Y Yeah, because every footballer does that. It’s banter, I bet some on here are moaning about it more than the FGR fans.
