That time of year again :D

Not content with all the worry of last year’s fiasco. Sending for daughters passports, getting it back only for it to be posted into dogs mouth and chewed to bits. Then sending for another and just getting it a few days before we flew.

I have just sent off for mine as the passport office workers are preparing to strike. Don't go away until beginning of July but no idea if there’s gonna be long delays, Any one sent for one recently, what’s waiting time been like?

Applied for mine online a few months ago. There was a warning about 10 week waiting times. When mine arrived 2 DAYS LATER I suspected it was some sort of scam. Maybe it is.

We have run the gauntlet again aswell, after having to go to Durham for my daughter's last year day before we went on holiday. Thankfully this year plain sailing, sent off for sons last week, came back within the week

I suspect it depends a lot on your application. If you applied online, your picture looks the same and you are at the same address it'll sail through. If you've moved 7 times, look completely different and apply at the post office it might take a bit longer...

I’ve heard that Ipswich have contacted the passport office asking for Barnsley fans passports to be delayed.

I know this sounds obvious but if you've got a dog that goes for the mail as soon as it comes through the door, presumably landing on the floor, why not buy a mail basket that you hang on the door by a couple of screws or hooks. Ours has a hinged lid and I fitted it a few years ago when I decided I didn't like scrabbling about on the floor for the mail for three flats - we live in a building with a flat on each floor.

It's basically a chrome see through cage so you can see if you have anything before lifting up the lid. It's a cheap and effective solution. The dog would have no chance of getting at your important deliveries then :)

Need to delay holidays in May as I think we will have an extra 3 weeks of football.

Did my renewal in January and it took 2 days.

Had my appoinment in the Passport office on the Monday and the passport was delivered Wednesday lunchtime - couldn't believe it.

we have a mail box at the side of the door in plain sight with a sign pointing to it. Saying please use the mail box don’t feed Our mail to the dogs.

obviously wasn’t clear enough, they were pissing about with the Second passport until I complained and sent photos.
