Poor old Manure, could hardly cobble a team together tonight according to the commentators!

I have enjoyed these European games this week, genuine passion and joy from the fans, the Sevilla fans at the end ,sat 2 rows from United fans, just celebrating their teams victory , no goading the United fans ,no obscene gesturing, think our game is in the gutter how fans treat away fans and abuse opposition players at every opportunity

Nahh he won't pick Tomori, he'll pick in two days time.
This is excellent comedy though from Man Ure, its a shame we don't see it more often. :)

I think that you may have stumbled upon Maguire's foible there.

He's just too big a frame to keep everything nimble and quick enough for modern football in the loftier heights, as he gets older.

Terrible tonight but stones and maguire are a good pairing for England…..Maguire needs a transfer in the summer

It just highlights how **** poor the premiership is this season. A barely adequate utd team can be in 3rd place but rightly get pumped by a team 13th in the Spanish league. Arsenal & City are good, but the rest are pretty awful - Newcastle have got in the top 5 by just being well drilled and tight at the back, Spurs are up their while looking clueless. I’d say the only teams at the minute worth watching after the top two are Villa and Brighton - who actually play good football.

Can’t go along with that. Newcastle have played some great football this season. They’ve been restricted with injuries to Saint-Maximin, Isak & Wilson before Christmas but they’ve just played some outstanding football in the 5 games before the Villa defeat.

Man Utd have been great for months as well. They were missing several key players last night & several others weren’t really fit enough to be involved but needs must. They should’ve been out of sight in the first leg before the late comeback.

I think the leagues stronger than ever. There’s quality players involved in relegation battles at clubs like West Ham & Leicester & anybody beating anybody doesn’t mean the leagues bad, to me it means the opposite. Brighton & Villa are playing brilliant football. They wouldn’t look out of place playing in Europe right now.

Well i would say Man Utd have been pretty dire, including the absolute pumping by Liverpool, another team who've been poor, only one team looks anything like good enough in the champions league - only 2 English teams made the quarter finals, not been that few for a while.
The relegation battle? Southampton are rubbish, many fans billed the Everton Forest game last month the worse quality premier league game they'd ever seen. Out of that bottom half only Palace and West Ham look good more then once in a blue moon.

Man Utd haven’t been dire in general. They’ve turned in several dire performances but have also been top notch for months. They have fielded a weakened side last night that got beat but close to their best team outplayed & knocked out Barcelona over two legs who are winning La Liga at a canter.

Most teams will have the occasional stinker as the leagues so good. You only need to be slightly off it & have a few injuries & you’ll get turned over.

Spurs are 5th, Liverpool are 8th & Chelsea are 11th so it’s no surprise they haven’t made it to the semis although all 4 made it to the last 16 & it took the reigning champions to knock out both Liverpool & Chelsea.

In Chelsea’s worst season this century they still managed to top their champions league group containing semi finalists AC Milan. Liverpool were only edged into 2nd on goal difference by Napoli who were arguably the best team on the planet before the World Cup. Spurs won their group.

Dan Burn has played left back all season barring one or two league cup games at centre back.

I don’t think Ben White has played centre back for Arsenal much if at all this season either. Nearly always plays right back.

Southgate isn’t going to play either instead of Maguire at centre back.

To be fair to Slabhead. It was De Geas fault. Maguire did shout for it but many players do that and don’t get passes. De Gea has a better view of the pitch and should have lumped it.

I bet Spurs wish they'd turned up against AC Milan now.

You're right but white has spent most of his career at center back before his move to arsenal. He also had a fall out with Southgate in the last tournament as he believed he should have been playing and ended up coming home so I doubt he will get in before maguire.
