Our top two chances are not quite over yet. I am clinging to the hope that we beat Ipswich and follow that by winning at MK Dons. If that is what transpires, then I am hoping that Ipswich fail to beat Exeter next Saturday, either by drawing or by losing. In this scenario, unlikely as it may seem, we would go into the last match v Peterborough with a chance of finishing above Ipswich. They would need to win at Fleetwood, if we beat Peterborough. Nerves might get the better of them, and a draw would not be good enough to match our hoped for 94 points. I don't suppose all this is likely to happen, but it adds a bit of excitement in advance of Tuesday's match.
Nice thought mate but I think the fat lady has already left the stage and is getting ready for a post-concert bath.
No way are Ipswich not beating Exeter. It seems there’s only us of the top sides that have a problem with them. Ipswich will blow them away. It’s definitely the play offs for us, we’d all have been delighted with that last August.
I think people forget Ipswich aren't even top, Plymouth are. And props to Plymouth. Absolutely not over until the fat lady singeth. If we were in Ipswich's position, we'd no doubt be calming each other down saying there's three games left to play, we've still got to play Ipswich... Some would be saying 'watch us lose to Peterborough in the last minute' and drop into the playoffs etc. It's not over till it's over.
We're massive outsiders, but we're sat on 85 with 3 to play. Before a ball was kicked, everyone would have taken that. We could get 94 points and still not be enough, which is crackers. It's been an exceptional season for me, whatever happens from here.
You’re also forgetting them over in S6, we have to hope they also drop points. It’s not going to happen. Although it would be the most Barnsley thing ever if we did pull it off….
What mostly likey to happen is we beat Ipswich and then the top three all lose their last games but we fail to capitalise and we’ll all be even more gutted
I'm still dreaming, can do without having to do the Wembley trek. I'm sticking to Weds not getting another point, we beat Ipswich and then pray they lose it in their next games like Weds did. 2nd ain't gone yet. I'm only discussing this matter with the heart, I've locked the head out of it.
The chances of either Ipswich or Plymouth failing to win another game are pretty remote. We've always been an arm's length from the top two, we had a chance to get to within 2 points of Plymouth with our games in hand, but that chance was gone after Exeter. Then Burton was the last nail in the coffin, where unlike the current top two, we again failed to come back from behind to win a game.
Fat lady not even in her stage dress. We win all our remaining games we could end up as Champions. Glass half full. COYR.
The commentator of one of the games on the EFL show saturday night seems to have totally dismissed us, saying that it's now 2 out of 3 for automatic. Definitely flying back under the radar now.
They barely mention us at all these days. This week: Barnsley back on track but too late for automatics. But how bad was today for Oxford? Lsst week straight onto Forest Green and the word Barnsley not even mentioned.
If we beat Ipswich and win our last two, two Ipswich draws would see us finish above them. If we beat them the pressure would certainly be on. Can’t see Plymouth failing to win any of their last 3, but also can’t see Wednesday winning their last 2.
