Collins wasn't in superb form before he got injured. By his high standards his form was poor

I understand the point you're making, but I do think there's a difference when it's the keeper, because only one can play. If playing Bobby Thomas meant that you couldn't play Mads Andersen, I'd make the same point there. In that case, Bobby is a miles better option than Cundy, and so his inclusion at the expense of our own player makes sense.

Collins doesn't have a divine right to the shirt, and if I thought Brad wasn't likely to match Isted's performance levels then I'd completely agree with you. But I don't think that's the case, and so I don't think it's worth the risk we're running of having to recruit from scratch in the summer.

At the moment keep Isted in goal. He is indeed a loanee but in the context of league position, form, team spirit and understanding in defence he should remain in the nets. To replace him with Collins at the moment would be the wrong call I think and would marginally destabilise the team at a critical time

I do agree with this, despite arguing as I have that Collins should have returned to the team once fit. It's done now.

Who are the 3 in front of him? Horvath, Shea and Walton? Horvath is only on loan so no guarantees he’ll be there next season (as far as I know) and if anyone has seen Isted’s performances in league 1 against Walton’s, I can’t see many choosing the latter ahead in the pecking order.

I guess nobody knows at this stage really. If we go up, we at least have a chance of getting him. If we don’t, I think it’s highly unlikely.

I think Luton have already chosen who they want between Walton and Isted, when they paid a fee for Walton.

It would appear that way, although I would imagine the Walton few was pretty nominal. Seemed a strange transfer deal at the time to me and seems even stranger now after seeing Isted. I guess Pilkington must’ve had a big say?

The fact remains that Walton has championship experience and Isted doesn't. Whether or not Luton get promoted I can't see Harry starting for them.

That is true. Jack did play a good number for us.

I wouldn’t necessarily say starting but I don’t think he should be far off being in and around the match day squad at championship level, given what we’ve seen of his performances this season.

Can anyone confirm what his loan period is to us? I haven't been able to find a specific date - just "for the remainder of the season". Is he available for the play-off games or is he due to go back after the final league game against Peterborough? Same question for Thomas, Tedic, Watters, Martin, Larkeche too.

Considering they signed Walton on a permanent deal, and let Isted go on loan in the final 6 months of his contract, I'd say they've made a decision on his future. If they go up, I can even see them signing another keeper ahead of offering him a new deal.

Where he'll be next season is anyone's guess, but I'd be surprised if its Luton.

End of season usually means 31st May. However, I have no idea regarding the loan contracts of the players we have. I would be very surprised if they aren't available in the playoffs though

Going on past history they will indeed be able to play in the play offs , when we have been involved in the past our loan players were involved , Fletcher & Isgrove both scored in the final against Millwall , so unless the rules have changed then they should be available .

Too many hearts ruling heads quite honestly. I got lambasted for my thoughts on the goalkeeping situation prior to Isteds arrival. On where I based it on what I view as championship quality. Simply put. Imho, Isted is.

But he/Walton wasn't that good in the Championship, certainly not as good as Collins.

Possibly it might also be showing Isted that we value him here and want him to stay longer. He’s going to go to wherever will give him the best chance of being it’s no1 keeper - perhaps Collins already got a move in the works that we are already aware of which is why all parties are happy with the current state of play.

Judging by our past play offs when Brownhill Fletcher, Toney, Isgrove, Chapman all played, I'd say we'd got them all till the play offs have finished

Dint know he'd got any doubters to be honest. Anyone who wouldn't want him as our No1 come August then.. honestly, you must stand with your back to the pitch.
