Bob on. We've been beat by a better, more clinical side, with a referee giving them every minor decision. Not to mention we're missing our best player. Time to move onto Saturday and get a bit of momentum for the play-offs. On the plus side, the pigs are almost certain to miss out on the top two now.
I wouldn't play Luca Connell now, for the next two games. I simply would not risk being without him for the play offs. Wrap him in cotton wool.
Totally agree, tonight was decided on moments rather than us being outplayed, fair play to Ipswich they look threatening and took their chances.
Ipswich get around 25k at home each week they won't be near the bottom 3 next season in the championship they will add to the squad and have a budget that dwarfs the likes of Rotherham, Millwall, Luton, Huddersfield.
Best team won. Not that we didn't match them for long periods, we did, but we make mistakes and they don't. That's the difference. It's not the referee (please stop blaming the referee, it does you no favours). The reason they have a team that don't make mistakes is that Ipswich have spent much more money than us and can afford to buy players who don't make mistakes. And the reason we can't match them for spending is that we have been mismanaged for the past 5 years (and, imho, a hell of a lot longer). We have to buy raw talent, not the finished article. We're not mismanaged anymore, we're managed well, and in a few years I think we'll have a team that isn't so naive. But right now, we've put together a team of free transfers. And the recruitment team and the management team have done unbelievably well with the resources they've got. And the players have responded in kind. And the owners have put in millions of their own money. There is nothing to moan about here. We've done wonderfully well this season and we still have every chance of promotion via the play-offs. And next season, the team that beat us tonight will be challenging for promotion to the Premier League. And hopefully we'll be picking up a few results against so called big teams in The Championship too. And devising a plan on how we will challenge the following year. Or maybe we'll still be in League 1, and we'll take the division apart.
Also, you mention Luton who will finish third and Millwall who will be comfortably top ten and they get significantly less than 25k. I know you’re obsessed with money and attendance but come on.
Sunderland won the play offs last season got a much lower points total than Ipswich and aren't doing too bad. My point was Ipswich will invest and I think they will be okay.
Don't think they have straight after bring promoted from LG 1. Man City, Southampton, Sheff United, Sunderland etc never looked back.
After 42 minutes it was a decent game with 2 equally matched sides then a couple of crazy minutes self inflicted cost us the game and from then on they bossed it and derserved the win .
I don't see why their goalkeeper kicked it into the stand in the first place! Anyhow, he ended up getting a yellow card!
Well done Ipswich, well drilled and had quality. Totally deserved the win. The ref started well but unfortunately for him (and us) he did get some major decisions wrong, namely not sending off George Hirst and the penalty. Very poor indeed, but sadly what we now expect.
To waste time and he was generally being a bellend, goading fans etc as was their centre back. Pretty unprofessional
