If you've not read any of Spike Miligans books especially His parts in the war Series. An absolute must if anyone wants a laugh. Funniest books I've ever read. Pure Genius and as mad as an hatter. As said. Lots of stuff about him and Harry Seacombe who were in the services band. Hilarious.
20 years ago I went with a woman who used to work as a chambermaid/ waitress at the Old Course Hotel, St Andrews. And the most horrible, obnoxious, ignorant and moaning guest she ever had the misfortune to meet was Bruce Forsyth. The total opposite to his tv persona.
I started with the 'what were actors' like by accident with him. But it's amazing that he doesn't have to think or recall. I just chuck a name at him and he comes right back with a few words or one liner. Or in the case of Ronnie Corbett a long reminiscence... Here he is in that Beckham ad. https://thefootballfaithful.com/best-football-adverts-ever-beckham-nike-pepsi/
Yes read em. The line from North Africa where they were being dive bombed by Stuka's. " I shouted over to Nobby are you insured? He shouted back 'Yes, for everything... except this!"
My mate's a sports journalist in the Midlands -;great listening to him talk about managers He thought big Mick was a legend at Wolves - great bloke who always had time for the press Hated Martin O'Neil with a passion
Love it .oh to be a fly on the wall to the conversations you have with him, no doubt he's in good company if net curtains are anything to go bye lol
