Now we know we are 4th and playing 3pm Saturday at home, we should start selling them for home fans this week! Tickets can just say play-off semi final on. Doesn’t matter who we are playing, let’s fill the stadium!!
Makes sense, but this is the EFL we're talking about. They won't allow it until our opponents are known
Won’t happen ubtil there’s a name, also immaterial as we’ll give Bolton/Derby 5000 and Posh probs about 3000 so no chance of halving North
Forest did it last year. The Reds’ impressive form under Steve Cooper saw them secure a play-off place with three matches to spare. Forest will not know their semi-final opponents until this Saturday’s final round of Championship fixtures have been completed. However, for the convenience of supporters, tickets for The City Ground leg are being made available to purchase now regardless of the opposition and date of the home fixture.
Hopefully on sale very soon then. Give season ticket holders time to get their own seat and pack out the ground.
As it's looking nailed on to be Bolton. Unless we can do what we did at Birmingham twenty odd years ago and finish the job in the first leg ..then I think there's more than a good chance of a mid day KO in the second leg. Bolton in with a shout of Wembley are going to bring Thousands.. with it only being an hour away.
Still don't see how us being away in the first leg gives us an advantage. Our away form has been pretty shaky for a while. Probably Cheltenham was our last convincing away performance (I'm not including FGR, our Under 10s would have beaten them). I worry we will go into the 2nd leg having it all to do.
Don't really think it's does.. remember Huddersfield? Beat us at Oakwell first leg. Then didn't know whether to stick and defend there lead or go for the kill in that first half at there place. 5,hit or bust for us second half gloves came off and the rest is history In a perfect world it may do.. but football is far from perfect.
I personally think the home leg first is the advantage. Get the goals on the board early rather than playing catch-up. Really the team finishing 3rd or 4th should get the choice as a reward
Ed.. just looked at the last day fixtures Bolton at Bristol ain't a given Thought they were more points ahead of Derby than they are. Going to be one hell of a tuff game Derby or Bolton
I've thought it myself as well, and there are also many examples of other teams, who have lost after having the 2nd leg at home. I wish some sort of advantage could be given to the 3rd and 4th teams in the Semi finals. Like giving them the away goals advantage, or making it a one off home game, or something like that.
