Another view, Barnsley fans will only believe a reported fee if it suggests we've paid too much, or received too little. Anything else is dismissed.
Transfer market which many class as good source says over 1million for schmidt. Unless you know otherwise?
We singled out vic enough times aswell. And it wasn't just goal scoring his all round game offered nothing should have come sat with me.
But we act as though woodrow was usually worst on pitch, but he wasn't. The only reason people singled him out is because they knew how good he was. But when often 7/8/9 other players around you can't pass a ball forward to save their lives, it would impact any forward
I don't know any different, nor do I know if it's a good source or not. But when 2m was being reported for Carlton Morris, this board was full of people saying how that couldn't possibly be true. Similarly, with Moore and Brown transfers, there was a range of fees being reported between 2-4m. Many would just choose to believe the lower value. Ultimately, we'll never really know the fee paid for a player, unless that is the only player a club pays, or receives, money for during that financial reporting period.
I think people singled him out as he was the highest earner the club captain and people expected abit more from him. Not just scoring his all round game.
Gerhard Struber did an incredible job keeping us up. Considering most fans thought Chaplin, Thomas (both at championship level), Simoes, Palmer, Ritzmaier etc were no good it made the achievement even better in my opinion. He set a lot of the ground work that Val built on with the move to a back 3, the high pressing & changing Mowatt into a ‘6’ rather than the 8 or 10 he’d been at Barnsley under Stendel & at Leeds previously. Moving Jordan Williams into a back 3, Styles into a wing back, Woodrow into a goal scoring attacking midfielder. I’ve never seen a coach improve as many players individually in such a short space of time. I know plenty of people disagreed with his decisions & the way he sets his teams up as they had set ideas on who’s better than who & who can play where but if you think he’s making bad decisions & yet his team still gets results to me that deserves even more credit.
young nudger was a breath of fresh air and should be welcomed back with open arms....................................
Having experienced numerous games against them as a Barnsley fan I can completely agree why Millwall were voted the greatest family club!
