So SYP can't control even one match on a Saturday? What's gonna happen if we play fowls in the final and everyone's getting on a train in Sheffield? Contingency plans in place tomove the Final to a Weds night?

My lad is devastated - he’s off to see Peter Kay at Leeds that night!

So, SYP can manage to cover several Saturdays through the regular season where us and the Fowls are at home at the same time, but kick up a fuss for the playoffs. You would have thought the EFL would have checked with them first, knowing which two teams were involved!
I’m afraid in this wonderful country of ours, we shouldn’t really expect any better.

Doesn’t make sense to move both of them though?

That’s as maybe, but it was originally scheduled for Sat 3pm and moved without proper explanation

If our club confirm it’s on police advice as well, then it makes no sense whatsoever to move them both

Wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised if it gets moved again.

I honestly have no idea what’s going on at this point. I’d resigned myself to missing the game.

I fly to Florida on the 20th and I’m booked into a Newcastle airport hotel on the Friday - if I got my mum and step dad to take the Mrs and daughters with them (they’re going as well anyway) I could probably get me and the lad to the game now, and drive up there to join them afterwards.

I’d probably be about as popular as gonorrhoea though. And I’m not sure I should.

But it isn’t half tempting given I’m away for the final (if we get there).

Just noticed on the official site linked in the OP it has the following in bold
PHYSICAL TICKETS/ETICKETS WILL NOT BE SENT OR BE AVAILABLE FOR COLLECTION UNTIL THE DATE AND OPPONENTS ARE CONFIRMED.

So it sounds like its still not a final confirmed date. I thought a Saturday afternoon fixture was too good to be true
Waiting now for SYP to insist its moved to Wednesday at 12 noon to ensure the fewest number of fans can actually attend

    Wednesday posted this ..

The fixture dates for the Owls’ play-off semi-finals have been confirmed.

Following the League One season finale against Derby this Sunday, our first leg will take place away from home on Friday 12 May, with kick-off at 8:00pm.

The return fixture at Hillsborough is scheduled for Thursday 18 May at 8:00pm, changed from Saturday 20 May on police advice.

Ticket details for our play-off double-header will be announced in due course.

So there are in the same position. SY Police do know they we're not playing each other don't they?

I don't understand why we have to just sit back and take this crap from SYP every single time. I am no doubt being simplistic and someone will outline the reasons why, but I don't get why we can't say we are playing Saturday - deal with it.

My understanding has always been that the club pays for the coppers inside the stadium but is not responsible for the cost of policing the area otherwise. There are virtually no cops inside the stadium these days anyway. So they cannot refuse to police the stadium because it would make no difference would it?

I don't get why both games had to move dates - why couldn't one of them have stayed on the Saturday?

I don't get why they have a problem with 2 fixtures at the same time when they literally do it every week. Even ignoring Donny, there are us, Rotherham and both Sheffield clubs - 2 are always at home every single Saturday.

I just don't get it at all. W*nkers.
