Bought a new house, got a bit of work to do & want to make sure it's got 'appropriate' connectivity considering working from home/my life depending on constant access to Bluey & Cocomelon.

Anyone ever had any networking put in their gaff? Ethernets & cables for plug in or should a good Mesh network do just the job now?

    Cheers

"Bluey and Cocomelon" and "networking". Sounds like swinging talk to me.

I have an Orbi set up in one of the big stone fronted houses on Park Grove, 4 decks and a conservatory built on. I have no problems with this it improved my overall set up ,
I have one in the conservatory for the Bluey Cocomelon and Thomas the Tank. It reached the 4th floor easily but it's not really needed so I use just the one now.

It depends what sort of house but for the most part you should be ok with a Mesh WiFi. I've a new build and use WiFi 6 Asus routers and they work fine. Neighbour has his ethernet cabled but it's probably a bit much for a new build although some of his stuff is WiFi. Go with 3 nodes and then you should be covered fine, WiFi 6 is expensive but i have no issues. Be careful with plug ins as they can interfere with other wireless things and they are not always as fast as you think. I can get 900mbs on WiFi to my upstairs PC which is connected to a router with a 5ghz backhaul to main router, if I use a plug in in the same room i get 30mbs

Well I hope it makes you happy, I genuinely do.

I would have been happy with 10 Regal King Size and a deckchair. I just could never afford the deckchair.

Which TP Deco is recommended? Looking on Amazon there's an M4 and E4 version - similar prices for a three pack of each.

Am I right in thinking I'd need to put my Virgin Hub into modem mode to make the best use of these?

Sorry, I have literally no idea about home networking/ mesh other than the fact that everyone in my house moans they can't access as much internet as they'd like :D

    Same.
Not had a problem yet, and very manageable.

    I got a TP-Link Deco M5 3-pack.
Set my BT Hub to modem mode
Set up the Deco's (main one ethernet into BT Hub)
Configured other two, named them, plugged them in, one in kitchen, one upstairs.
Turned off WIFI on BT Hub.

    Jobs a good 'un.

Looked into putting cables in when I had an extension done but realised that a decent mesh network would be just as good if not possibly better. I got an ASUS Zenwifi Tri band WIFI 6 system (AX6600) with 3 nodes. It's really good. I plug my macbook via a thunderbolt doc into one of the nodes in my office. I can get over 800mbs download speeds with that (1gb talk talk here).

I've got a netgear orbi wifi 6 3 node system that is barely used that I need to put on ebay that I can let you have for a decent price.

I'd go with mesh wifi with 1 exception. If there's anyone that does any serious online gaming, I'd go for cables. Even then wifi is probably good enough, but I just personally go cable then, because latency is more important in that situation.

Thanks mate, will have a look. Was gonna look at the Google one just for integrations with device, home control etc but might be an option. Ta.

If you can get the Orbi at a reasonable price Dyson i'd go with these as they are up there as being the best especially with them being the WiFi 6. I've got similar setup with the Asus stuff

    What a load of nonsense.

You would be better off with a NetFelcher 69420, ported into a GigaPaedo. Set the Odejayi coefficient to 176, and you'll see upload velocity of up to 800 PolPots.

Tend to agree, with one caveat. The cyclic throbulator in your setup can sometimes be affected if someone watches Police Interceptors without wearing headwattling attachments. If that happens, you can downsize the ranomising podule until it re-aligns with the flagellating clatch. That usually sorts it. Other than that, just watch for a special offer on an upgromvulated rewombler. Good luck.

That’s what old Tommy Tyke had.

Caused him no end of problems with his hard drive.
