    Well, he didn’t really, did he. We’d have stayed up if we’d lost that game. Then again, I suppose we’d have gone up if we’d lost against Bradford.

    I’d pick a game I’ve never seen before, one last Barnsley game, the next fixture.

    One last bit of excitement and nerves about the unknown, rather than a game I’ll have seen before probably dozens of times or at least know exactly what is going to happen and when.

    The 2006 play-off final second leg at Huddersfield for me. For me, that match had everything. We'd lost at home in the first leg, then hopes were raised when we took the lead in the away leg, only for a defensive error to give them a goal back. We scored again to take it to extra time, and then Nards did the rest. On top of that, I was covering the match for Real Radio so I did a phone in with Ron Atkinson pre-match, commentated on the whole match and then got to interview Nards and some happy Reds fans afterwards. A great night!

    Workington was my first game too, in 77. I think my second was Southport. I was a right kiss of death, cos within a couple of years they had both been kicked out of the league. I’m surprised the third club didn’t try to close the turnstiles when they saw me coming.

    2023 First Div play off final at Wembley v Sheff Wed.
    It's the last minute og by Barry Bannan I want to see again and the massives reaction, then the sudden realisation that they've lost and will be spending the following season playing first division football in front of a near empty stadium because of the season ticket price increase.

    Most of these games have highlights available on YouTube somewhere, so I’d go with the 1912 FA cup final, a major trophy won.
