So according to that statement there's a chance that anyone doing it might possibly maybe potentially get a ban

I’ve a feeling tomorrow won’t be much of a problem, unless Posh win and make the play-off then some of their fans may run on????? The home leg of play-offs potentially will be the main one if we get to Wembley. Could be same if Bolton win if we give them anything more than 2k

They should be clear that any fan that goes on the pitch gets banned for life. It's the only way to get tough.

You think the players and staff want to be jostled at the end of a match? I think we all want to thank them all as we do at the end of a match that has been won. Why do people have to be so selfish?

Whilst I agree with you about them being selfish and shouldnt go on pitch so everyone can enjoy - every interview I've seen of players getting lifted up and hugged and this & that have always said they enjoyed it, albeit that's after they've won promotion/a cup, so it's definitely different circumstances tomorrow!

Edit - that could also just be the player keeping the fans onside, latest one who said he loved it was Ben Foster other week. I suppose it depends on their personalities

I think it's very likely that most players who say it's ok to be mobbed by marauding fans are only saying it to, as you say, give a good impression to the fanbase. I'm amazed that none of them ever seem to get badly injured in the melee, but there's always a first time. If I go tomorrow, and it's not certain that I will travel, I want to stand by my seat at the end and give the whole club a big round of applause for a great season. What I DON'T want is to have to sit there for 20 minutes or more waiting for the "look at me, I'm in the ponty end penalty area - oooooh, aren't I clever!" types (kids and adults alike) to get off the grass so that these players can come back and enjoy the applause from those who are left.

It can be done - we've all seen it on tv where bigger crowds than ours stay behind the perimeter fence and just enjoy the fact that they've seen some great performances all season, or maybe in that one game that they have just won to stay up or something. But will it be done tomorrow at Oakwell? Highly unlikely given the fact that most of those who do it year after year never read official site warnings or requests to behave, or even care what anyone else thinks about them. It's only in fun, isn't it.....

Can't argue with anything you've put bud. It is selfish, especially if you're in a wheelchair!!

Surely the fans need to look after our pitch for the playoff game…, it’ll be crap if we get beat because of a bobble caused by some numpty taking selfies in the Ponty end penalty area….

When they run on they then try to rip the players shirts and shorts off them. It can get quite aggressive.
    Just stay off the pitch.
We generally leave and not show our appreciation as I hate to watch it.
Promotion season to the top division i can understand running on then just leave the players with their shorts on

I'm getting a bit Daily Mail in my old age over stuff like this, so I'd issue key stewarding personnel with tazers. Only set to 'stun', obvs......

Any adult who goes on the pitch having been respectfully asked not to do so, needs to have a word with themselves. What on earth are you doing?
Any adult who allows their child to go on the pitch shouldn’t be bringing kids to Oakwell.

My friend is Assistant ref today and asked if our fans are likely to run on. I’ve told him that it happens every time.

So final whistle will almost certainly be blown with officials half way back to changing rooms.

I imagine if we get Wembley by beating Bolton the message of keep off the pitch will be said again.. looks a tough ask though on current form.
