Went for Cotter, don't think anyone really deserved it. Maybe the guy who read out the list of deceased Reds or the kid who hit the bar in the half time challenge.
Wow. It looks likely that Barry Cotter gets our man of the match - after giving the most naive, tactically wanting, defensively inept performance in that first half than I’ve seen in many a year. If a few runs with a pirouette and nutmeg thrown in, leading to him only overrunning the ball or misplacing a pass, are the criteria for man of the match then I might as well give in! Though in fairness we were absolute dogger in the main and it’s hard to argue he didn’t provide the few bright moments, until Benson and Tedic came on at least, and they are ineligible. I can’t vote for him when he was so poor overall though so voted for Cadden; who at least looked like he could competently play at wing back. Sadly his 6 out of ten was surrounded by too many 4 or 5s.
Guess I'm struggling with the Cotter thing here too given that he was clearly and consistently miles out of position down our side in the first half which Peterborough frequently exploited. But each to their own, it's only opinions after all. Norwood was the only player in the first half to perform anything like capability, was visibly putting 100% in and won us a clear penalty not given by the latest numpty in the black. He seemed also to be the only one showing any leadership, trying to organise Cotter, telling Philips to show at least a modicum of effort and endeavouring to help both of them and Williams understand how they should be supporting each other down that side. Okay Norwood went off at half-time and Cadden was probably the most prominent in the second-half but on the basis of Norwood's first half being a bit better than Cadden's second, I've gone for James. He also signed the most autographs etc at the end!
Cotter was exciting going forward, always looking to take on a man and provide us with the direct attacking play we’ve sorely lacked at times this season. Unfortunately he was supposed to be playing RWB which means he had to defend too, or attempt to. Which he did. Badly.
Absolutely baffled hes got most votes. Had Williams put in such an inept performance defensively as cotter did, especially first half, he'd have been slated to high hell.
If folk voting for Cotter is baffling, God only knows what the two people who voted for Kane have got for eyes.
Agree Kane was terrible with his passing yesterday. Would like to see Cotter as an attacking midfielder myself.
