Styles will be coming back unless Millwall take up the option to buy. The problem is he’ll on a good wage & has just had a pretty underwhelming season. If we stay in league one I imagine it’ll be a Woodrow carry on where we pretty much give him away on a free just to get rid of his wages.
Difference was, Woodrow was into his last year, and our best earner. I doubt Styles’ new contract is at that level, he was pretty much forced into signing it if he wanted to play in the Championship this season.
I don’t think he signed a new deal. I think we just took up the option to extend the deal with an option we had when he originally signed. Which deal? When he signed his first extension he’d only made a handful of first team appearances, and in the summer he was desperate to get away yet no one was wanting to buy him. He’ll be on decent money in relation to our wage bill, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was less than Benson and Kane who signed from Premier League clubs. Suspect our top earner is sat on his arse at some random Belgian club
No surprise there unfortunately. Woukd be nice if they could have accepted the result graciously for a change. They have some decent fans, but way too many scumbags.
