It's not going to be anything of particular note I reckon. I have noticed the club have got very creative with their marketing recently such as announcing the Ponty end is sold out when it clearly wasn't. Fair play to them though, when you get some success and momentum then you have to try and capitalise. My guess is that this news will be that we have got a sponsor for the ground which may be a reasonable deal from a commercial point of view and come with the promise of improved fan zones etc...
I think you are confusing selling every ticket with everyone with a ticket turning up. I don’t believe for a second we make up that a stand is sold out when it isn’t.
1, Hes bringing out some flatbread flavoured ice cream ?. 2, Hes going to try and get extra points taken off both Wigan and Reading ?. 3, Hes sprayed some offensive graffiti in the womens bogs, about Conway & Lee ?. 4, Or maybe hes seen the future, and he knows we're going to hammer the Posh in the Final at Wembley ?. Please let it be number 4.
Just sounds like the usual sales pitch/CEO speak. I wouldn't pay much attention to it, Khaled has form for talking $hite doesn't he anyway?
He'd have been better off saying nothing. People aren't going to buy a season ticket off the back of that interview, and if the news doesn't happen or is underwhelming, he'll get pelters. Better off waiting till whatever it is is a done deal, and then make an announcement.
Ceo will announce 65% off pens, car tax disc holders and last years match day programmers in Barnsley club shop.
Don't get the CEO bashing. How much criticism did the club get for saying nothing. Dammed if they do dammed if they don't.
I just think he's setting himself up for a fall with that specific comment. If the news he's referring to doesn't actually happen, or is a bit underwhelming, he'll get pelters he could've avoided. Overall, him and the club have done an excellent job since relegation though.
The last "big and exciting news" was arguably the takeover in 2017. Not really surprising that some are skeptical without knowing what (if anything) is afoot.
I don't think there's anything wrong with giving a tease, it's got people talking about it, which 5 pages of posts on here testifies to. I doubt the announcement has anything to do with players/coaches as we don't have the funds to be unveiling anything that exciting. We sign good players but they tend to be under the radar. Any commercial deals we've made may be important to the finances of the club but they're not really the kind of announcements that get people buying season tickets. So we're left with what @Gally wrote.
To be honest I would have thought that most fans who intended getting a season ticket will have already bought one through the early bird offer, so I don't believe Khaleds cryptic message is a marketing ploy & there actually might be some interesting news, we will see
Going to make the effort to listen now. I was prepared to wait and see what happens . Hopefully the club don't let us down with the Bolton home leg ticket allocation. 2130 no more stick em in the west stand upper. Or even better metrodome car park.
