Ironic cheering and/ or criticism whether fair or unfair doesn’t mean abuse. I thought there were times when he was unfairly singled out for criticism but I don’t recall any abuse
Your memory is quite selective, Cauley was injured for a fair part of that ‘18 months’ also he was often unfairly accused of not trying and being uncaring which was largely unfair, he was also often played in a deeper role than out and out striker.
He might have been a better option than Tedic before his injury, but not sure he would've been since he came back. 4 headed goals is probably beyond what Vic would've provided given the same playing time (according to BBC, Tedic's mins per goal is 190, which isn't bad at all), and in all three games he's scored in, he's scored the first goal, which is very important for us. I think ultimately, Adeboyejo needed a move away.
I think Ironc cheering or booing a player as they enter the field is out of order. Maybe abuse is a strong word but going by how he was treat both from the stands and online by trolls definitely unfairly singled out and a scapegoat.
10 starts 6 sub appearances 3 goals 2 assists Tedic 21 games 4 goals 1 assist And city paid 3million for tedic.
You can’t put in Victor’s starts and subs but then not do it for Tedic too. According to BBC, Victor has a goal every 293 minutes for Bolton. Tedic’s is 197 for us. Neither are world beating stats but unless a lot has changed in the last 12 months, Tedic’s hold up play is streets ahead of Victor’s so at least he offers that.
Why split Vic's into starts and sub appearances, and not Tedic? Tedic - 4 goals, 197 mins per goal Vic (Bolton) - 3 goals, 293 mins per goal.
Why say vic had played 16 games stats can be mixed and used both in a negative and positive way. Vics got more league one goals this season than all of our strikers bar Cole.
Ones scored more league one goals than all our strikers apart from Cole that's not bad stats. The other cost city 3million quid?
I’m not debating that. Just trying to put a fair comparison between the 2 from your post. Victor did really well for Burton and I can’t imagine many on here, or even Barnsley fans in general, would be upset at that. Since then though it would appear he’s reverted back to his usual self. Not sure why Tedic’s fee keeps getting brought up. That’s absolute peanuts for City.
I think vics proved he can score goals at this level this season. It may be peanuts for City but if your a 3million pound striker I'd expect you to score a few more in league one or at least impress the gaffer enough to start on a regular basis.
