An interview with Khaled in today's Chronicle. It would appear that the "exciting news" isn't to do with the ground lease as that's dealt with in a different bit of the interview. Link below. https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/a...ion-for-play-offs-and-says-we-should-sell-out
Got to be something to do with the Women’s team, which personally is meh. But appreciate to others this might be exciting
It'll be news that Pareekh has upped his stake at the club and is going to bank roll it back into the Championship eventually. Also they've agreed a deal to tie down Duff to a longer contract.
Pareekh taking chien Lees shares would be a good thing. Doubtful he would bankroll the club and just throw money at it but at least he seems genuine which is more than conman and lee. Duff signing a new deal would be good but contracts mean very little if a big club in the championship comes for him.
Why does everyone associate bankrolling the club has having a neverending money pit? I mean investing enough to get us promoted and competing comfortably in the Championship. A bit like Cryne was up until his Court case around the 2007/8 until 2010/11 under Davey and Robins.
Could be the women’s team, in his program notes when he first mentioned “big and exciting” he said “…and I think everyone is going to want to be part of that journey." for me he wouldn’t have used the word “everyone” if it were the women’s team as we are all ST holders who support the men’s team, some will support the women’s also, but using the term “everyone” doesn’t fit into the context of him taking about STs for the men’s team. his comment in the cron today suggests the ground ownership isn’t imminent either… … a change of investment/club ownership or Duff extending his stay maybe, I’m sure Duff signed a 3 year contract though (?) so I can’t see the club extending it this early into his existing deal
Cryne bankrolled us more in his later years when he was more involved paid for winnall scowen and Connor with his own cash subsidised the academy year on year.
Could be worse, could be a Nigerian Prince who's recently come into an inheritance . . . . . . . He just needs some bank details to transfer the funds.
Nah it just means that we get more compo when he's snapped up by a Club higher up the food chain than we are.
Struggling to see why he would use that as an incentive for people to buy a season ticket to watch the men's games
