I think you need to think again, we took around 24 to 25 000 for Play-off game in 2016 and that was our second visit. I’d expect at least that many again

I know how many of our lot are wanting to go if we get there, (300 ish).and I'm pleasantly surprised at that. But I reckon for a lot, the experience has been, seen it, done it.
The pricing of tickets and transport will have a big bearing on the turnout. Especially families.

Agreed. Novelty of Wembley worn off, bank holiday weekend to do other things, cost of living etc.

17k? Come on. We’d shift at least 25k.

Is there a train strike that weekend though?

    EDIT

    No there isn’t.

34k against Ipswich. In 2000 didn't sell our full allocation..I wouldn't hazard a guess to tempt fate. But the economic climate will have a big bearing. And even then, impossible to predict for me.

I don’t get this argument. All tickets have sold out. If those who had missed out had bought earlier then the people who do have tickets would have missed out. The problem is that we chose not to sell thousands of tickets, not the order people bought them in; you’d just be swapping over who couldn’t go but still have the exact same number of tickets sold. The ‘buy it quicker’ thing is only relevant if there were still spaces available but people had missed a deadline and so the seats sat empty.

We'we taking 7 years ago though. If we say 8000 season ticket holders and their plus ones that's already 16000. And I know loads who aren't season ticket holders who'd want to go too . Definitely between 20- 25000 I reckon.

It's is possible to fully support the players and get behind them while simultaneously pointing out failures of club policy and general poor communication. The two are not mutually exclusive no matter how many full stops you put before the rather crude statement "end of"
Moreover after many years of reading the board,I disagree strongly with the assertion that ST's post was stupid or that he is a sad person. On the contrary I would in fact contend he is a passionate supporter of the club who just wants the Club to excel in all areas.

By the same token Helen I know a few season ticket holders that won't be going. But as said previously. I'm surprised at the numbers prebooked places on our coaches (on standby) if necessary. And saying that. this has been our busiest year ever. since we began 28 yrs ago.

Agree with every word you have said here but ironically thousands of seats will sit empty anyway.

Eh, playoffs are usually Bank Holiday weekends. This time there would only be 1 visit to Wembley not 2 within the space of a few weeks. Cost of living has not stopped us from selling all available seats for Friday, and could’ve sold more had they been available.

Didn’t we take a similar amount to FA cup semi final against Cardiff. It was certainly in excess of 30,000

I was responding to spuggy who quoted 35k for that game. I think he's right. The overall attendance was around 10k more for the semi final.
I seem to remember Ipswich sold their full allocation in the play off final. We sold 5k short.

It's not the Championship play offs or another FA Cup semi final. It's division three and decent tickets will be about £60. We've been four times already so it's lost of the shine of OMG it's Wembley.

I think the point some make is that if they’d bought earlier and not been as fickle, the club would have had more time to put something in place to use the north stand. It wouldn’t just be a quick easy undertaking. Only selling out today left them barely three days to get it signed off, agreed, and likely recruit and train a load of one-off staff. It really isn’t that viable.

Could they and would they? We will never know. But had they sold them by last Thursday or Friday and had a good week, rather than three days, they’d have had a better chance.

We might have sold them all now - and great - but thousands of people didn’t commit as soon as they might have. I offer no criticism. I get it. All sorts of reasons for that.

But with so many people having done so, there remained thousands of unsold seats after the st reserved deadline passed - so the club couldn’t be sure of the commitment level and any hypothetical chance to use the north stand probably passed at the weekend.

It might be that segregating the north was never on the cards. Though with the words Khaled used, I personally suspect that it might have been possible had they had a bit more time.

This isn’t all on the club and it shouldn’t be used as a stick to beat it with.
