No doubt this post won't go down well with some, most likely, like a mixed grill and a glass of cows milk would at a vegan get together ...however We can all take the proverbial p155 out of them and yes the majority of them are deluded let alone fickle and are our rivals However no matter your feelings I personally think rivalry should be put to one side for once and we has football fans in general should applauded their come back from 4 nill down away from home to then go on to win on the night 5-1 followed by 5-3 on penalties...takes some doing ...so fair play to them...credit where credit is due. So we'll done Wednesday let's hope and pray its us that's lining up against them at Wembley ...and we will, if we show the same desire they have ....
From the outside it seems a great comeback, but actually watching the match it was clear Peabruh had no intention of playing ball and that referee was awful.
Thought referee was fine, until extra time when he was a bit daft. I think majority on here has given Wednesday their fair play. They deserve to go through. Those Peterborough players should hang their heads in shame
Yeah I said earlier on as well that if they do win this tonight, they will have deserved it. Spawning a lucky 1-0 win thanks to a bad ref is one thing. But to show the determination they did and to win it like that from 4 goals down, was amazing. A big thumbs up to Daz Moore.
I listened to the post match interviews and I think you're being a bit harsh on the Peterborough players @Tyke The Tree-Frog . Their inexperience showed, and when it came to the penalties the miss hit the bar. As Ferguson said, they'll have learned a lot From last night. From Moore's interview, it sounds as though that " the harder I work the luckier I get" quote came into play. He got them back up, broke down what they needed to do and ensured they practised it. Very calm in his interview as always, not happy for the Massives obviously, but after the **** he's been through good for him!
Wednesday did to Peterborough exactly what we did to wednesday. Attacked, attacked, attacked. Didn't give them a second on the ball and put them under pressure. Peterborough just didn't show up because their awful manager seemed to think it was job done and they didn't have to do anything to go through
Didn't see the match but congratulations to Wednesday, some performance that by the sounds of it. Deserve their place in the final.
To beat Wednesday you need to do what Peterborough did in the first leg, which is the complete opposite to what they did last night.
Excellent performance from Wednesday, but the defending for second, third and fourth goals in particular looked like watching a game of Fifa where the player kept pressing the wrong buttons on their control pad. The second goal, the keeper seemed to stand and watch as the ball slowly rolled into the net. Two of them ran into each other for the third, and then right at the end, somebody decides not to run towards the ball or stand on the line, running into his own net instead. Proper rabbit in headlights stuff.
Whilst I was confident Posh at Wembley would’ve been a breeze for us when we beat Bolton of course, I thought they were just meh, not is it only going to be a mare now travelling down to Wembley on coach and train, but they will be **** a hoop now and full of confidence.
On the last one if the keeper stays within the width of his net he just picks it up. He took himself out of the game for 2 out of 4 goals.
MY issue is that, should we make the final, we will be playing against a side, brimming with confidence and highly motivated (not that we shouldn't be motivated ourselves). They will have the additional motivation in that we beat them twice during the normal season. If Barnsley turn up they have every chance of beating Wednesday but I think last night will have made their job even harder , especially as many neutrals will probably now root for Wednesday. Again not getting ahead of ourselves, tonight will be tough but home advantage should count for something. There is also the 'dodgy ref' factor to add in (although I believe VAR is being used for the final so should,in theory, negate that) In summary, I would much rather we had had P'boro in the final even though we lost to them in the League.
We'll beat Bolton and we'll beat Wednesday. Can't believe all the doom and gloom and hand wringing about the propsect of playing a team at Wembley that we've comfortably beaten twice this seaqosn, and who scraped into the final on pens against a poor Peterbrough team. Barnsley fans are funny. UTR.
