Been waiting for someone to set one of these up all day and I’m sick of waiting, I’m as excited as a kid at Christmas Do we think Bolton will play the same as Saturday, will they play better? Different tactics or the same? Anyone doing any pre match rituals/superstitions just to be safe?
I’ve read Bolton didn’t turn up in the first leg according to their fans, not sure if that was the case or we just out footballed them, I suspect we’ll see a better Bolton and a better Barnsley today. Home crowd is the difference tonight, we need to make it loud, intimidating, sway the referee, get under their skin as much as possible, don’t go quiet if they score, keep singing and keep supporting. I’m a true believer that the 12th man has a huge impact on games, I’ve seen it happen too many times at Oakwell over the years not to, we’ve earned this home advantage let’s make the most of it! On the superstitions, so far this season whenever I’ve parked the car in the same spot we’ve won, about 8 times this has happened now, I’m setting off early just to make sure I get the same spot!
Oooh hope the parking spot works....I've finished early for day and seen a single magpie on way home (gulp).
Our best version will win. If we don't bring our best version, we probably won't. Brilliant home record this season, but last two home games were very poor. Only thing I ask really, is that we leave everything out on the pitch. I also sincerely hope it's decided by the players, not the officials.
It’s been a tortured wait since that winning penalty went in last night…all my family are Wednesday fans..and they’r well and truly rubbing it in now (and no I didn’t gloat after last week) …
Had a dream last night. We had an absolute stonewall penalty turned down. This led to a pitch invasion - but only kids. Whilst the stewards ran around trying to catch them a Majorettes troupe entertained the crowd. Just got a feeling that one of those will come true. Hopefully the Majorettes
16-1-6 is an ok home record, not brilliant. Damaging defeats to Wycombe 0-3, Lincoln 0-1 and Exeter 0-2 earlier on followed by Bolton 0-3, Ipswich 0-3 and Peterborough 0-2 paint a poor picture there. Six defeats, 0 goals scored and 14 conceded. Had we turned a couple of those into wins plus a couple into draws who knows where we might have finished. I know the Peterborough one was a bit different but it still hurts especially considering how poor they were last night. As for tonight I can see it being high tempo, high drama stuff with the referee doing his best to be star of the show. Let's just hope he counters the inevitable shocking decisions against us with just as many against them.
Key is to not fall behind…I’m certain we’ve lost every home game this season after falling behind in-fact I make it 21st December 2021 against Huddersfield last time we did pull it bk & finished 1-1??
Not scored a single equaliser at home this season. Only managed to get a draw after going behind at Pompey, Ipswich and MK Dons. Not sure we need to be any more attacking than last week just because we’re at home. Press from the midfield like we did last week, they’ll be wanting us to push more players forward and counter attack against us
It’s a strange stats isn’t it, why haven’t we been able to get back into games, it’s not a lack of effort? is it something we are doing wrong or have we been scoring first more this season that usual which is skewing the stat a bit, even so to not come back from behind all season and finish 4th is unusual
Ooh no I said " Good morning Mr magpie...how's Mrs magpie and the children?" ...oh and salute while I'm saying it....is this right?
