While on holiday in Cornwall I had to download an app for council run car parking. No option to pay cash at the machine; You either pay on your phone, get a fine or find a non-council car park. As is typical you select the length of time you want to park (say, £5 for 4 hours) and progress the transaction. At point of payment you're then hit with a further £1.50 'convenience fee' on top. Still riles me that I had to pay extra for THEIR convenience.
I remember queueing many years ago outside Sheffield City Hall to buy 2 Genesys tickets. Apart from getting wet as it was pi**ing it down I paid only the face value of the tickets. It is impossible nowadays. I bought expensive tickets recently through a ticketing (TicketOne) website for a gig at Verona Arena that were 53 euros each but by the time I had paid for --delivery, admin charge and 'insurance'?? (they were actual physical 'hologramm'ed' tickets) for the delivery I ended up paying 183 euros. Given it is a 14000 seat open air arena and it was a 14 night sell-out with the average cost of tickets at around 35 euros the ticketing agency must be 'cleaning up' especially as they had exclusive rights to the rest of the World tour. About time these fees were 'capped' Ticketmaster are among the worst IMO.
