Is that when any Barnsley fan goes to the club and buys a ticket in the future the club absolutely must offer that fan the opportunity to be added to the club's database and secondly any tickets bought online need to be allocated to a name. As a season ticket holder I've logged on and bought cup tickets this season for a few of us. All of them were officially allocated to me. There needs to be a way to allocate those tickets to non season ticket holders somehow. Anyone who's been to a Barnsley match should be in the club's database (as long as they consent). We shouldn't be getting to Wembley and having families suddenly realise that only one family member is on the database even though they clearly buy 4 tickets each time. Not a dig at the club, I'm sure that all or nearly all other clubs would be in the same boat. Just something to think about for the future.
Yes Dys - It's been a mess regardless of how many tickets we've sold. I'm certainly not one who bashes the club, and I'm not even sure if its down to the club or ticketmaster, but there is no denying its been poorly handled for fans.
Perhaps the answer is a membership scheme like Wednesday have, but just without the 30 quid cost. If it looks like we might be heading for a Wembley date in future, the club encourage people to sign up as a member in readiness for needing to prove their association with the club, regardless of buying history.
You wouldn’t believe how many people are on the database. We’d be able to fill Wembley twice over and then some. Ticket sales have quickly dried up since yesterday. Looking a similar following to the last play-off final. We sent an email out to the entire database earlier. Be nice to get it to 25,000 at least.
Yes because anyone who isn't a season ticket holder can only get 2 tickets unless they go begging season ticket holders to help them out like I've seen all over the internet.
Not wanting to sound daft here but is there an issue where people are on a database at the club but don't have online accounts? So basically if I buy at the club and get put on a database how would that help me buy tickets online tonight? I assume I'd have to create an account tonight but then how would that link up to the database at the club? As I said it's absolutely no criticism of the club, I figure that all clubs do it how we do it or most at least. The issue has been caused by Wembley and the fa or EFL or whoever makes the rules. Im just trying to think of a way to help for next year when we have to do it all again for the championship play offs.
But how many on that data base are no longer with us. We do have an aging fan base. Have you seen our away following. The average age's got to be sixty. Just have look at one or two of the posts over the last few weeks on here. There's plenty of stalwarts who are just not fit enough to go anymore. If it's 23k traveling then so be it.. It's just how it is..
Noticed that about this board, so many people who are, as you say, stalwarts, aren't able to go. So very sad to see
Don’t know if I’ve done it wrong or not but I couldn’t buy tickets under my dads account who’s a season ticket holder. I managed to under my account & used a friends for the rest. Is this because he’s never bought tickets online before & I’ve always done it? Is there a way of sorting this before the championship play off final next season?
They changed that before sales opened yesterday morning. Non ST holders could get 5, in reality it was more, I got 6.
Whenever I buy tickets for the 3 of us, I always allocate the other 2 to the people I'm buying them for. Is it the clubs job to hold everyone's hand, surely the customer can register themselves on the database. I get perhaps it needs a piece of communication to cover those that only go to a game once every 5 years, but it's not really the clubs failing in this case.
