Health issues. First time in my 66 years a Red that I've had to give in. Heart disease and cancer have weakened me and a fall two weeks ago put me in hospital for a couple of days. I don't think I could stand up to all the stress of travel, lots of stairs and the excitement of watching the lads run rings round the Fowls. I'm buying a one day pass so me and my mate of 66 years will be watching, shirts and scarves on.

Hopefully you'll have a relaxing summer, ready to get back to Oakwell for the start of the Championship season in August.

Unfortunately can't make it due to living almost 2,000 miles away and currently struggling with mobility after a knee problem.

Also the coach price was a bit high from here!

Ditto. Might have seen us win one though actually.

Haven't been to a game all season and the first time I haven't had an ST since 2001.

Commiserations to all those who would like to go, but for whatever reason cannot. I fall, *mainly*, into the 'health' issue, nothing serious but an eye infection with a slight complication has left me with impaired vision for a few days. Would have liked to have been able to go but as a now non-Barnsley resident and a non-paying spectator for a number of years, the pull of the match day atmosphere has somewhat weakened. Add the eye problem and the decision was an easy one to make.

    *mainly*
Going back a few years, 2008 semi-final, and leaving Wembley for the train back into London we were met with a line of what I could only describe as 'militia'. Police, mounted and on foot, but dressed as if they were about to start battle with rioting hordes. It saddened me to think that a game which saw me, as a youngster, stand in mixed crowds with no trouble at all, had deteriorated to warrant this type of 'policing'. I think that was the start of the end of the love affair with live matches. I now don't have a TV so keep up to date with this site and live score .

To those going, enjoy the occasion and cheer the Reds into the Championship.

Thank you, mate. Yes, I'll be sat on my settee wishing I was in the stadium.

Another day out for me the current Mrs DR and the 3 junior DRs (although one is really a SE London Red).

Sorry to hear that mate, knew you were a bit 'quieter' these days but never realised why! All he best!

Thank you, old mate. I may be ill, but I'm still as passionate about my club as I've ever been.

Not going, wife in early stages of Alzheimers and there's only the 2 of us down here in Surrey. She's not a football fan and I can't leave her on her own. Not seen a live match of any sort since December last year
