I do think we absolutely have to press them from the first whistle. If we sit off, they'll just pour forward. Looking like there will be twice as many of their lot in the stadium. We need to keep them quiet.
I've been quietly confident about us securing a win on Monday. Yes, Wednesday will be on a high as a result of overturning a 4 goal deficit to beat Peterborough in the semis but it's the same team that also capitulated at London Road so they can be beaten. I thought we went about our business against Bolton without really breaking sweat so should have plenty left in the tank. I can see it being a tight affair which may well go in to extra time but not penalties. I'm going 1-0 Reds.
I think it’s important that we get through the first 30 minutes without conceding. If we can do that, I think we’re going to give ourselves a good chance of winning it.
The first is so vitally important. We've all seen the stats on when we score and concede first. If we concede first we'll have to do something we haven't done all season, to win the game.
We score first, we win, no doubt for me. We will deffo score at least 1. I’m really fancying us 2-1, possibly 3, catch them on the counter as they press for an equaliser. I do not feel any negativity at all. We will quiten the MASSIVES
Yep, spot on! make it a really unpleasant opening 10-15 for them and let them know they’re not having their own way like the other night. My only slight concern is a stupid Red card or something but I’m hoping Duff/Mads are talking to the likely recipients (Norwood and Kitchen) Both seem to have improved on that side of their games as the season has gone on but crazy things can happen in these big games.
Not our day, but forget the result. Just think back 12 months and how bleak things looked for the club. For us to even be in this final is frankly astonishing. Wednesday finished 3rd, on a points total that would have given them automatic promotion any other season. Despite their inability to deal with us in either league game, they're where they are on merit and a defeat to them on Monday should carry no shame. I would desperately love us to do it, but will journey home content if we don't. It's been an amazing season and next year, subject to Duff and a handful of key players staying put, will be better again. Fixtures out June 22nd..... Heart: 2-0 tarn Head: 2-0 Wendy
Great shout. If we lose, we've lost to the team that finished 3rd on 96 points and 10 points more than us. It's still been a brilliant season. If we lose and manage to hang onto Duff next season, I'd be very confident of an automatic push.
There's not a single person on this site, or anywhere else for that matter, who's got a clue who's even going to win let alone what the score will be. It's been a great season and a turn around in the atmosphere around the club. That's achievement in itself. Let's just hope the game goes our way. COYR.
Agreed. We all want to win on Monday for sure. But in reality, subject to keeping Duff and one or two of the key players, next season will likely be a lot more enjoyable if we lose on Monday than if we win. Lose against Wednesday and I am going for automatic next season.
Brilliant that Chris, cheers. I have to go with a Reds win, no other choice. Just hoping for a memorable, great occasion, which makes our county proud..
