I don't know how many times in one lifetime we are supposed to bear unjust defeats against Sheffield Wednesday. That one tops the lot. Can't tell you how proud I am of the team tonight. We battered them for 70 minutes with 10 men Next year, we'll win the league.
I had hoped that they had used up all of their luck in the Posh win, with a goal 2 minutes beyond the agreed stoppage time. But ohh no, the ref couldn't wait to help them just that little bit more today. And no doubt they would have had extra minutes today, if they didn't score when they did. Phillips has been careless at worst, it looked accidental and their player acted like he'd been shot. And the ref couldn't wait to get the red out!.
I just can't believe VAR didn't even at least tell him to look at the red or the penalty. Absolitely criminal
I have no qualms admitting they deserve to go up over the season, however, they were extremely lucky today and they will be absolutely annihilated and/or in serious financial trouble next season without shipping out some of their OAPs. Very proud of the lads. Fought brilliantly all season and today despite having decision after decision go against them. I don't know why we haven't complained to the EFL/FA, I really don't.
It made a mockery of having Var didn't it, as the ref was desperately looking to take the law into his own hands. If you've got the technology, then use it for goodness sake, as rash decisions like that can ruin a game, and it ruins the whole season.
