Great player to have at this level. I can certainly see him staying for another year. He's the sort of player who feeds off crowd reaction, and I think he knows that he's loved by our fans.
I'm not sure I'd offer him a longer deal than a year. I like him for this level, but if we go up next season, he's not the long term answer in terms of becoming established at that level again. He'll be nearly 34 by then.
He was knackered in injury time cramping up. If he had started he would have been subbed after 70 minutes. Not a dig at him but the pace he went at he couldn't have lasted it for the full game.
He was outstanding yesterday when he came on. A real pain in the arse for defenders and he literally ran himself into the ground. Well worth a new contract, in my view. He's earned it.
