Didn't hear any anger, abuse, discontent or see any bad behaviour. Despite the loss our thousands of fans were laughing, cheerful and in very good spirit. I'm happy with what I saw with the players, we weren't as fluid as we can be but you cannot fault the effort. Thoroughly enjoyed the day from start to finish.
Happy to admit that my fears of clashes between the sets of fans at services and around the ground were wrong. Saw no hint of trouble all day, just fans trying to enjoy their day out
The Wednesday fans were a decent lot this weekend much better than Millwall. I anticipated trouble but saw none.
Yeah, credit to everyone who attended. It had a very friendly feel to it all to be honest. Spoke to several Wednesday fans throughout the day and had a good natter and a laugh and they were all spot on. Not even the merest hint of trouble at all, all day.
Yep - I echo that! Only saw friendly banter - lot of their fans admitted they were lucky! Well done both sets of fans
The only bit of trouble I saw was a Barnsley fan about 60 year old shouting at and threatening other Barnsley fans including women during the game. The police officer who witnessed it sniggered and looked away. Looked like a right Wayne couzens to be fair (the police officer).
Wednesday only did banter from inside their own coaches. Lots of six finger gestures, which I thought was nice of them to remember how many we scored in our double. Those I spoke to were decent fans. Didn't see anything that would kick off outside the ground or the services Leicester Forest and Watford Gap. It's almost as if we didn't both need our own pubs and we were adult enough to mingle without wanting a scrap.
We spoke so some owls in The Red House next to Croxley tube station, all very good natured. I did hear some threatening shouting as we got to Wembley Park station after the match though.
Couple of instances. One outside McDonald’s at Wembley. Gang of reds fans walked by singing. Wednesday fan left his family and run up to them and started a shouting and threw beer at them. He came back holding his mouth and looking a bit embarrassed. fat bold **** after game abusing reds fans and offering them out after his teenage son got some abuse for being a nob and taking piss out of barnsley fans. Police stopped owt from happening
If anything our fans were bad without help from the opposition. A good number should have been thrown out for being tanked up, including the grown man who fell on the little girl who must have been about seven years old. Smoking in the toilets. Standing in gangways.
Wednesday fans were outside a pub in Kings cross when me & my family ( seven of us ) walked past on the other side of the street mid morning, they started giving it large and offering us out, very brave of them being there was about forty of them but just smiled at them & gave the odd gesture & kept on walking & that was that but bye & large there was a decent atmosphere amongst the fans but would it have been the same if it was us who scored a late winner , I am not so sure .
Same here. On a largely Wednesday LNER train from Leeds. Chatted all way down about general league one stuff, the two league matches, one lad acting as football quiz master. All good natured. We legged it on final whistle so on a train devoid of any of them on the way back but had mates on later trains who said no bother. Much better than expected.
