You are going into the Championship next season lead by a manager , who, just 2 weeks ago, 98% of you wanted him sacked. And Chansiri won’t be leaving you now you’ve reached the promised land.
And it took them nearly all the 2nd half plus extra time and 2 atrocious decisions to beat us.. and we only had 10 men..wouldn't be banging the drum too loud if I was them.
Did they though?.....They would have had their dodgy VAR on the incident to prove they were first and your contact with the toasty machine was foul play!!
I've just put this on another thread, but I think they'll have a season of struggle next year - as likely would we - but they need some serious rebuilding with the age of their squad.
To be unable to break a ten man side down for that length of time, they will really struggle next year.
I think virtually all of them (ok maybe not the MOST deluded ones) know they were extremely fortunate yesterday and in the home leg of their semi, where they should've been a man and penalty down near the end. They know they'll need to spend big money they don't have to stand a chance of stopping up, otherwise their squad of OAPs will be annihilated every week. Can't blame them for enjoying a first promotion since 2012, but reality will bite very soon in the summer.
A Wednesday fan said to me last night at Wembley that he thinks they should sack Darren Moore this morning following yesterday. I **** you not.
Do many of them actually enjoy football? I’ve never known a fan base of a football club talk about the actual football so little. It seems to be all about attendances & ‘I was there’ & goading rival fans. I couldn’t believe it when we left the stadium yesterday, there were hundreds of Wednesday fans just in the area I came out of, I’m thinking you’ve just won at Wembley, why aren’t you in there celebrating & watching your team lift the trophy?
Some of them were very fair with their comments, some as deluded as ever, especially the guy who was surprised our lot were tired near the end ( probs an idiot that couldn’t count the number of players we had on the pitch) Don’t think it will be long into next season before they start with the ‘Moore’s out of his depth stuff.
Here’s a little thought… Wednesday have not filed their 2022 accounts yet. The accounts for 2020 and 2021 show losses of £24m and £26m. With 2022 not filed and the fact that they can’t sell the ground again means Chansiri need to come up with another way of avoiding sanctions.
It shows in the way they play. They've been dull for as long as i've been into football (25 years-ish). I've never heard anyone praise their style of football at all, ever. On another note, I can't remember the last decent player to come out of their academy
