Really lost any magic now; it’s basically a stadium wedged in a mini city. When it was first rebuilt it was a beacon still, but not now. Feels more wedged in than Oakwell. For any visitors outside of the tube network it’s a nightmare to get in and out. For our flagship national stadium the services are poor- queuing 40 mins for food for my son pre match. Really has been a waste of money. A specially built national stadium in the midlands would have been better, and more practical. And less cost.
White elephant. Always has been, practicality isn't a thing in modern architecture. Just style and extortion
No road infrastructure to get away after the match. Sat in car park for over an hour then crawled for another hour before getting underway. Could have flown to Tenerife in the same time it took to get home. Should have been built at the side of the M1 in the Midlands.
Building up all around it has made the stadium lose any visual appeal from the outside. There's no majesty as you approach it because it's overshadowed by Mavis and Albert's flat. Inside it's just a soulless bowl and like being in the keepmoat on steroids. Access to and from it is absolutely appalling for something that cost so much. All in all the occasion is great because it's the play offs or the fa cup but that atmosphere could be recreated anywhere in the country at a dozen stadiums. In the past Wembley itself added to the occasion, these days it takes away and that's a travesty
Wembley is proper run down. It looked more of a tip than last time I visited the area. Why anyone would want to live there I don't know. Really old fashioned decaying houses in a bad area and you're probably still talking a million pounds for a three bed. Insane.
Over developed - but that was part of the strategy to redevelop it all, not just the stadium. I actually don’t mind it - plenty to do before the game, and covers all bases. I wouldn’t want to live there though.
I actually quite liked it. Lots to do before hand and you can’t say that the stadium isn’t impressive. Each to their own I suppose.
Have to agree the the place is a rip off joint and after watching us 5 times there that’s me done now. The actual ground the atmosphere the quality of seats etc are on a different level but everything else around Wembley is just an exploitation of fans. £15 for three chicken nuggets and a carton of chips,£5 for a can of Carling and then sat on a bus for nearly two hours before you’re actually out of the car park after the game not forgetting rip off merchandise, so yeah I’ll be watching in a pub in town if we get there again .
Great stadium in the wrong place, you could understand it been there back in the day but when the rebuild happened in 2000 whoever thought of of putting it back there must have been smoking some illegal substance.
I'm in the minority I love the stadium enjoy London the tube network but just hate the prices food and drink etc.
