Lincoln striker, their player of the season, 13 goals in one of the most negative sides I've ever seen. 23 years old. Could be worth a look. Reckon he'd cost in the region of £500k. Not sure where we'd be on wages, as in the past Lincoln paid some of the highest salaries in the bottom division to attract players as nobody wanted to live in Lincolnshire. I'm guessing that they're not anywhere near the top in L1, though having seen some of their reserves swanning round in cars I couldn't dream of being able to afford, they're probably still paying quite generously.
You've to pay at least 5k a week danger money for living near the Ermine estates. Kendray's danger money is roughly half that so we might struggle
I don't know much about him, but he's certainly the sort of player we should be looking at. Good goal return for his age at the level we're at. Should only improve.
The Ermine estates seem to have improved a lot. Admittedly I don't hang out there much, but we have to drive right through the middle of it to get to Waitrose (irony alert!) and it looks quite calm and tidy, especially when compared with some of the estates I visited in Sheffield and Nottingham when I was working as an insurance loss adjuster. However, some of the areas in the south of the city including those surrounding Sincil Bank are extremely dubious. I've been living in Lincoln for 8 months now and it seems like a seriously odd city, demographically speaking. The centre is generally full of independent shops and restaurants as well as high-end chains, yet every second shop entrance seems to have a spice-head or homeless person lying there, usually absolutely off their heads. Random fights in the high street are also commonplace, all with one of the world's most incredible gothic cathedrals in the background.
Sam smith (Cambridge striker not the weird singer) is out of contract this summer I believe so certainly worth a go on a free. He got 13 goals as well. Also had a loan spell with Duff at Cheltenham a few years back in L2.
